My glass is broken. I looked at those do-it-yourself kits and it looks quite difficult. Any place in B.R. area that's good a cheap?

Let me give you a bit of a warning. Had mine done and it ended up getting jacked up. Now it goes into "phantom touching" because there's a sensor that touches the screen. Since it got replaced (twice by two different companies) it has never been resolved. You might want to get it done by Apple and not some local yahoo here in town. I've already invested enough in mine to where I gave up and bought a new one, as opposed to dumping 100 dollars here and there to get the old one fixed.

I'd take this guy's advice and go ask Apple. If it's not that much more to get a new one, then I'd do that. Switching out screens is very meticulous and just about anything can go wrong and probably will if its a no name company/guy.

I work with a guy who is amazing at it with the kits. He gets a razor blade and loosens it up enough to pry it open. He removes the old glue off. He puts the new glue strips on. He puts the screen back down. He has these tools that hold the screen down long enough for the glue to dry.

Apple does not do any replacements. I called them about my iPad screen. If you bought Apple care they do prorated replacements of the entire unit.

Does Apple not promote and/or endorse screen replacement by a certified tech? I truly had no idea. What I do know is I will never go to a local to do it again. I'm out a few hundred dollars and could have gotten the same result just paying for a screen and watching a YouTube video.
