I stayed off the board last night but I wanted to express my feeling about our softball team last night as I was at the game in Gainesville.

1. We may have lost the battle last night, but we can still win the "war." If we continue to play with the intensity and desire that our ladies played with last night, we will be just fine and will win a lot of games.

2. Our coaches had the team ready to play. We out hit them and outplayed them in my book and that's from 30 years of coaching high school softball.

3. It was a world series atmosphere last night with 1845 fans in a 1200 seat stadium and it was intense and I was proud to be there cheering on the Tigers.

4. I read on another board someone complaining and already jumping off of the bandwagon for things they weren't witness to since there was no video of the game. I thought our girls and coaches were ready and played and coached their hardest. No team is perfect as both teams made a mistake or two. That's why it's a game, not a play...we played hard and I'm good with it.

On a side note...it was my fault that we lost since I forgot my 35 year old "I'm a Texas Tiger" pin in my suitcase and 95% of the time, that pin is money.

I hope you get to watch the games today and tomorrow. I'm still here even though my 91 year old mother wrecked her car in Sugar Land yesterday. I tried to get flights back but she said she was good and wants me to stay to cheer for the Tigers. I set her tv to watch the games for her before I left.

So BEAT FLORIDA!! Love our Tigers!!

Corbello cannot walk batters. She gave way too many free passes last season and she got wild again in the 3rd inning last night. Good teams will make you pay for that and Florida is a good team. Thus, the 3 run inning...

Florida has a great team....if LSU can win one on the road, it will have been a very successful trip.....I expect that barring injury, LSU is going to be a major player this year in Softball....perhaps a major player at the CWS.

This team is the best LSU has ever had... and probably the best coaching staff (at least the best recruiting with the layovers from Coach Giroud's final recruiting contacts). That being said, we have too good a pitching staff to walk and hit as many batters as we did last night because as the OP said, that will cost you against top teams. On a good note, We have the best player in the country in Bianka Bell, the best 4 hole hitter in the country in Jaquish, and have a tremendous pitching staff that, when on and hitting thier spots, can mow down any lineup. Last night's game could have and should have gone our way, but it didn't thanks to a few errors and a questionable coaching move. I look forward to seeing the girls take these next two games and continue to build on the mistakes and build more confidence on the mound as the season progresses. I have been following this team since 1997 when the program re-started and this is by far the most loaded and well rounded team LSU has fielded in the past 18 years.

Corbello continues to struggle with confidence, control and patience. I see her moving to the third pitcher in the rotation soon, with Hoover and Walljasper as the one-two punch. And Kelsey Selman has improved tremendously from last year.

It wasn't the walks that hurt. Florida is well known for sticking body parts out and getting hit by pitches. It's intentional and taught by their coach and the rules basically allow it even though I feel it's unethical. They've already been hit 65 times this year and we're well over 150 last year.

I would disagree. The ball was hit very hard and the left fielder had the ball in her glove before Andrews touched third base. Very questionable move to send Andrews home in that spot.

That being said... Beth is doing a great job this year. Hopefully she will see the need to put Bailey Corbello down in the rotation and go with Hoover and Walljasper and maybe even Sellman ahead of Bailey and use Bailey as a relief type pitcher and mid-week starter.

Bases would have been drunk with none out in a one run game. No need to send her unless the ball was gapped. However, today is a new day.

Two great SB teams. The throw out at home plate I thought was impressive. LSU had 9 hits to UF's 5. Todays game is at noon on the SEC network. I might open a beer and enjoy a great game.

This is just false. Her last start before yesterday she threw a no hitter. It's not like she got knocked around last night, she gave up 2 earned runs to the #1 team in the country.
