You nana to us losing a starting guard and picking up a 30 year-old CB? Not saying he won't be serviceable, but we took a step back on o-line with this move.

Grubbs was terrible value for 9 million or whatever he was making. Lolito or a draft pick will be fine here.

Grubbs was most definitely expensive. I believe his number was in the 6 mil range. Not 9. He's still a 2-time probowler, and can return to that form. No way a sane mind would think "a draft pick" will immediately step into his shoes.

I'll assume you meant Lelito, and if he was better than Grubbs he would have played last year.

I feel confident that If we take an OG at 13 or 31 then he definitely could be as good as Grubbs was last yr.

One can only hope that type of logic would be applied in the nfl. I think experience and a failed transition to center kept him off the field

As good as Grubbs last year when he was playing with 2 shits centers? Or as good as Grubbs in 2013 when he was playing with a slightly average center in DLP? There is nothing definite about a draft selection until he plays at this level... I'd put more stock in Grubbs returning to probowl form with a probowl caliber center next to him in Max Unger.

They did not deserve to be on the Pro Bowl roster for the 2013 season imo.

And what exactly do you think caused them to attempt to transition him to center? Could be becuase his guard/tackle play wasn't up to par. CSP has shown the willingness to bench his big names if they can be out-performed. He couldn't even keep the start over a banged up Goodwin

I don't necessarily think this is a bad trade. But to think we can just plug somebody in like it's a PlayStation game is ridiculous. Everyone's like.. "great payroll is cut .".will find somebody else cheaper to do the same job" Who is the safety that everyone was happy to get rid of last year ??it was a glaring weakness on the team and we missed him.

Well... Byrd was injured, so I wouldn't say that was a huge mistake just yet. What comes to mind is letting Sproles go only for a slew of replacements that couldn't even remotely duplicate his production.

Letting Bushrod go in 2012 is a good example of this very situation. When money is tight, I suppose you have to take chances though. I'm not upset at all in the trade. We'll see what we get in the 5th rd/who ultimately replaces him

Our interior play is already a glaring weakness.

Jesus, do you even think?
