Shame he won't be available. Even Mourinho asked for it to be rescinded/reduced.

quote:

Paris Saint-Germain will not be able to overturn Zlatan Ibrahimovic's red card despite Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho calling on the European governing body to cancel the dismissal.

UEFA has announced that referees' decisions are viewed as final unless it is a case of mistake identity, though it will review Ibrahimovic's dismissal next week to decide whether it merits a greater sanction.

PSG coach Laurent Blanc said the club would consider making an appeal, but UEFA's position means Ibrahimovic will be suspended for at least one match as a result of his red card, which was shown for a foul on Chelsea midfielder Oscar.

What the hell.

Even Jose freakin' admitted it was BS. Unreal.

Good on Mourinho for stating the truth. Oscar should get the ban, that little coward.
You gotta love Ibra:

"When I got the red card all the Chelsea players come around.. It felt like I had a lot of babies around me."

"I don't know if I have to get angry or start to laugh. For me when I saw the red card I was like 'the guy doesn't know what he's doing'," the PSG forward added.

So Matic gets his ban lessened but Ibra gets nothing? Different organizations decide these things, I know, but come on. This is absurd.

Seems like the rules for reviewing red cards were poorly thought out.

Ibra certainly didn't deserve a red.

The only good thing is that it will only be for the first leg, still total BS, but he will have a chance to have an impact in the quarterfinals.

PSG looked good without him, obviously, I think part of that had to do with their opponent, but I think PSG should be able to manage not getting thrashed in the first leg.

I hope they get Porto.
