What non-fisheye wide angle lens do you recommend? Camera is Canon T3i. Thanks.

Definitely the Tokina 11-16mm in my opinion. My copy was tack sharp by f/4 (you really shouldn't be shooting wide open with a wide angle anyway) and always performed well.

Never tried the tonics, but my canon 10-22 was awesome. You can find them at a great price refurbished. F8 is about the sweet spot for most interiors, exteriors from f11 to f16

Sweet streetcar shot. Not sure how you got it to hold still long enough though.

I have the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 for Nikon and really like it, I am pretty sure they make a Cannon mount also...

probably 28mm to 80 zoom or equivalent

I had a nikon, used tokina lenses and nikon back when film was still regular

I kinda dropped out, dumped the nikon in favor of a fast pocket model by sony.

anyways, I preferred the zoom to get the most bang for the buck. like who the F wants to keep changing lenses, what a pain.

I think the 28 still keeps the perspective and not blown out like a fisheye

if they make a 16mm zoom, go for that, cuz you are not obligated to use the 16, only when you feel it fits the scene

It just depends on the line of work and the lenses. Prime lenses tend to have less distortion and are generally sharper around the edges, etc.

In my work, I normally use a wide-angle zoom, but sometimes need to switch to a 24mm prime that's sharp as a tack all the way around for specific situations.

True. And you are pretty much limited to f2.8 with zooms.
