Saw a Canyon the other day, and that mf'er was fine. I wouldn't ever buy a first year vehicle though, so TIFWIW

first year of the model or last year of the model

This is the first year that I've ever liked the Canyon/Colorado over the Tacoma (purely on aesthetics). Still hard to pick against Toyota's reliability.

Reliability and ability to handle high mileage. Put 90 miles a day commuting to work. The rest is negligible. Colorado is fine, comfortable and gets great gas mileage but no reputation. Tacoma will require a trailer for 4 wheeler and occasional lumber etc. but damn that Colorado is nice.

Wait for the 2016 Tacoma :

That diesel motor coming in the canyon/Colorado is a good concept.

Toyota's reliability.
And here's the kicker - not nearly as good as it used to be - still head and shoulders above the competition.

If you are getting a 2wd to use in town the Coloado is going to be more modern and car like. The Tacoma is relatively unchanged since 05.
If you are getting a 4x4 and will ever take it off road then the Tacoma and it's not close.
If you need it to last several years and well over 100k miles then the Tacoma.
If I was in the market I'd hold out until the end of the year for the 2016 Tacoma and get the best of both.

The new small chevy looks nice, but would never buy one or compare it to a Toyota. No contest there.

Posted on 3/12/15 at 8:47 am to chesty
i had a 2003 TRD taco crew cap and loved the damn thing, but they kids were getting bigger and it was to small and had to go, they hold there valve like no other small size truck.
but with that said the interior was cheap, seats are small shite like that.
i haven't been in a new Colorado but they got the look right and a diesel would be sweet!
