this is encouraging and worth posting, but could you make it sound like you're not a 12 year old girl making gossip?

I do think everyone needs to temper their expectations of Browner. Do I want him to sign? yes. Do I expect him to be an all world CB? no to the hell. He will be a solid contributor, but he will not be the shut down player everyone seems to expect him to be. Ideally we get Williams signed, who seems to be the better player. Having both of them will bring us a long way to being a better defense

I don't think anyone expects him to be shutdown (that's a crazy expectation) but he will be better than Champ Failey, Corey Blight, and Patrick "10 yards off coverage every down so they complete everything underneath" Robinson, not to mention Stanley Play-TheLeast, Brian WasInTheMixon, and Terrance Frederick. That last guy was okay.

If he plays as much man as we played last year, it's going to be ugly, IMO.

No doubt, especially if Jenkins can improve our interior presence.

Getting both of them would be ideal from a depth perspective, and really help against teams with larger receivers

This thread makes me realize how little I actually know about Browner and Williams... and yet I am TOTALLY invested in both of them coming to New Orleans....

The offseason is hilarious.

Browner was the "other" starting corner in the original legion of boom. He is huge at 6'4", 220+ lbs. He is extremely physical(good and bad because he gets penalized a lot). And he has a history of takings PEDs.

Williams is a speedy corner who is very good at creating turnovers(only behind sherman in ints since 2010 or something). He has finished every season with a positive coverage grade. He has been a mainstay as the Packers starting corner.

Both guys are man corners, which is what we mostly run on the outside.

2 knocks against Browner are he's 1 of the most penalized corners in the league... the 2nd is he's prone to giving up the deep ball
