Won't the Jimmy G trade hurt Seattle's salary cap situation?

One of the main reasons, they've been so good, is they have so many good players, especially on defense, for cheap.

With Russell about to be paid, Lynch re-signing, Jimmy's salary the next few years, and some defensive studs nearing contract time won't they have to start clearing some of their cornerstones to success?

Maybe the Jimmy contract is a like a grenade without the pin we just tossed at their future cap space

That's precisely my point

We just threw responsibility for 10s of millions of dollars over to Seattle. They aren't great because of 2 high paid guys, they are great because they have like 10 awesome underpaid guys.

This should further speed up the process of dismantling that team.

ETA:

You people are absurd. Of course it affects the Saints. Its the best team in the NFC we are trading a valuable weapon to. I'm just giving more silver lining to the trade.

They know they are about to be in Salary Cap hell, but who cares. They added an elite player. This is great for them. You have to strike while the iron is hot.

Great to have a top 10 Qb on a rookie deal.
