Agent Carter/Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Question

This is probably a stupid question given the difference in time frame but I'll ask anyway.
I haven't gotten around to watching any of Agent Carter yet, I was wondering if I really need to before jumping into the second part of season 2 of AOS?
Just wondering if they somehow tied the two together like they have with movies in the past?

nah, it's totally different. you will be fine watching AOS first

okay great. I jsut don't have the time to devote myself to binge watching all of Carter at the moment but want to keep up with AOS

The only connections I can think of is that Carter and the Howling Commandos recovered the obelisk from the first half of the season.
I don't think anything that happened during the Agent Carter run has anything to do with what we are seeing in Agents of Shield now.
