Not sure what's so funny? I asked a simple question. If I had wanted a dumb arse response I would have went to the OT.....Evidently I don't have a built in phone app to do this. If I do, I'm not sure what it's called. Can you help me or not?

Your phone doesn't make calls..?

Save the number and then block it...No phone knows what numbers to block, until you tell it too..Otherwise it would block everything

How about you re-read my OP before deciding to be all cute? How the frick am I supposed to block an unknown or restricted # when the # does not show up on my caller ID?

There are 1000s of apps that do this...There are also thousands that clean your battery and make your phone smarter...Install what you want..If you want to trust crap, you'll get crap on your phone..Call your provider and tell them to block the calls at their level..

Hey brother!

Try White Pages Caller ID and Block. It has over 4 stars on reviews. I honestly have never used one. I hope it helps.

TrapCall is an app that will show you who is calling even if it is blocked - I think you can set it up to block the number in the future, but it at least gives you the opportunity to screen those calls.

On my galaxy s4

Settings
My devices
Call
Call rejection
Auto reject list

Add numbers you want to block or check off unknown for unknown (I guess that means private numbers?)

Yeah. I saw this. Wasn't sure if unknown would block all unknown #s that were not in my contacts or incoming calls that did not have a listed #. I enabled it so we'll see how it works

I use Contacts+. It's a pretty nice call/text app and it recently had an upgrade that allows it to automatically block unknown numbers. It even has a database of tens-of-thousands of "known" spam phone numbers that it will automatically block too.

Not a bad program.

White pages works great. Unknown name calls still show up their numbers and allow you to block them. It also shows user feedback on the number that is calling, so you can determine if it is spam or not.
