LSU earned the double bye...but does this actually hurt them if they are truly a bubble team with work to do? Or does the selection committee look at it like we won 2 games in the SEC tourney? Really kind of sucks if they only look at the first game we play.

I don't think you understand your logic with this question

Doesn't hurt at all.

Even if AU/MSU beats TAMU then AU/MSU beats LSU, not a worry in sight.

Conference Tourneys are for teams to make a statement or get an auto-bid.

If you were a committee member, would not playing equal two wins in your mind?

No, and choking against the 12/13 seed wouldn't look great either.

I guess my issue is...if we need a "win" to get into the NCAA tourney....it would be beneficial if our matchup were Miss St. or Auburn rather than Texas A&M. (We should beat A&M imo...but we didn't.) Miss. St, in theory, is an easier game. Would our resume be better if we had 2 wins, and then lost to A&M....or if we just lost to A&M? (We could say we are 9-6 over the last 15 rather than 7-6 over last 13). What's better? That's my logic I guess....

A MSU or AU win is meaningless in the committee's eyes at this point. If LSU didn't win @ARK then a loss to a 11/14 (3 losses in a row) would put LSU squarely on the bubble.

TAMU is a first four or last 8 out. Losing to them hurts LSU zero.

I don't expect LSU to lose to TAMU, but even so, the die has been cast. LSU is a lock.
