Wow. I was hoping for a different answer since Meche's is all i've ever eaten. The ones I had this morning were big, but kind of greasy.

Are there even any other choices? Does Keller's in Youngsville make donuts?

What about Home Cut, Jak's, Cajun Market, or Hot Donuts in Youngsville?

Cajun Market is an offshoot of Meche's, same style. There's this really small donut shop in Broussard called Sunrise Donuts (on the side of La Hacienda on Albertson's Parkway). Nothing spectacular, but they have a good cake style donut (I believe that's what they call them). Pretty good if you're looking for something different. They have chocolate icing, plain, and blueberry varieties. Also have kolaches and all that chauze.

My favorite in the area are Keller's chocolate donuts - Meche's are good too.

Cajun Market donuts are the same as Meche's. Don't remember the details, but it's the same family.

Eta: They do seem to have some more exotic varieties sometimes though.

Stretch your area to New Iberia, Cajun Glaze is better than Meche's.

The funny thing I have found about the Hot Donuts place is that they are never hot.

Gautreaux's in Scott. I've had Meche's, am not impressed. The Gautreaux's donut is lighter, sweeter maybe if that's possible. Definitely worth a try.
