Take a trip into the mountains. Couple nice churches to visit. Decent shopping. Some resorts do nice fiestas. There are a lot of celebrity houses you can see on tours. There are tequila tours too with samples. Best thing we did was enjoying the cheap food, drinks and spa.

Had two sail fish hooked up simultaneously. Good fishing and cheap. Look into it.

Also visit the mountains. Nice tropical forest with a cool restaurant where they "filmed predator" or some shite. Rent a car and drive around. Go hiking, climb a mountain stream bed.

Had a blast. Good luck.

I went 5-6 years back and our family rented out a whole private house with private beach for 1 week. I was really nice. You can't go wrong with Puerto Vallarta. It is probably one of the safest places to visit in Mexico, just do stray off at night down some back alley and you will be fine. I suggest the zip lines, do a fishing charter, and just enjoy the city and the food. We also did a day trip to a local fishing village and that was cool as well. We had the luxury of having a private driver who is a friend of my uncle. He is a local and know what and what not to do.

Until you get kidnapped and held for ransom.

I had some Mexicans working for me one time and told me to never go to Mexico City alone since I was a gringo.

I am sure there are parts that aren't bad but I wouldn't risk it.

I had a blast out there. Uncle has a house there so we got to do some off the radar stuff. I recommend it.

I get there a couple times a year and would never go to some parts of the city with armed guards. However, other parts of the city are very safe and very fun. The food scene is grand and cheap in comparison to other cities. I really like the San Angel Inn for dinner and cocktails.

Where are you staying? Heading into town from airport at beginning of hotel row there is a baseball stadium on the left. Take the first left heading into town and go about three blocks, there is a local seafood restaurant on the left. Can't recall the name but it's like 75% local middle class types in there. First cheap really good

Mexico City is a great place to visit, no more dangerous than large U.S. cities

Puerto Vallarta is great for fishing, that's all I ever did there

Just got back from Punta de Mita a couple weeks ago. It's bout 45 minutes from Peurto Vallarta. As others have mentioned, go fishing. Also go out to the Las Marietas islands and visit the hidden beach. Go on the rainforest adventure too. You can repel down a waterfall.

Shepherd, how was water temperature? Some family are there next week for Spring Break. They want to go fishing and snorkeling.

If you like golf, book a tee time at Vista Vallarta. My brother and I played there a few years ago. It's a Jack Nicklaus course with tons of elevation changes and beautiful scenery. There may have been 5 other carts on the entire complex when we played. Very relaxing.
