Yahoo reports

he was a 5 star from chicago and had somewhat of a controversial announcement. he was down to illinois and kansas i think. during his tv announcement he picked up an illinois hat acting like thats who he was picking and then threw it off to put the kansas one on. ticked some people off that he would mess with the local team like that.

I remembered when he chose Kansas... He started off the decision with putting on an Illinois hat but then he quickly replaced in with a Kansas hat. I was going nuts.

Hard for a 19 year old to control the actions of his family.

Yes because LSU's problem has been a lack of talent...

I hate when they do this. Just say your thanks to whoever (mom, dad, God, etc...), say what team you're going to play for, and move along.

We're talking basketball. Not football.

Are you on the left or right?

But yeah that was a dick move. Self LOVES cliff and calls him the most coachable kid he's ever been around. Sounds like he's got a shady support group, unfortunately.

It sucks for cliff as he is pretty much the only person getting screwed over here and it's pretty possible he is entirely innocent.

I could understand a kid losing his eligibility for a family member taking money to influence him to attend a certain school, but not for a family member taking money from an agent

Not sure how the kid is supposed to police that

As an Illinois fan I am not bitter. Though I am not surprised by this news based on what I have seen and heard about his family.

What's worse is a school getting sanctioned for a kid taking money from an agent. Not sure how the school is supposed to police that. Yet, that's exactly what happened to UMASS with Camby.
