After reading the speed trap thread, I was curious to see how many on the OT are career criminals.

I'm not gonna post how many I've even gotten, because I have no idea, but I just paid my second one for the year last week.

Had some NOPD dyke pull me over on 610 last year, draw down on me and make me get on the ground, cuffs, and put me in the back of the car. All of that was for a supposed parking ticket I got in JP a few months before. Their computer showed that I had an active warrant, but I had the paid in full receipt in my truck. Never even had a warrant in the first place.

She wanted none of that, so I sat in the car for 30 minutes while she figured it all out. In the end, she didn't even give me a ticket

I've been fortunate to get warnings and get tickets fixed. Knock on wood.

-17, speeding
-23, dui
-26, speeding

I think that's all of them.

Why people still speed on the interstate is beyond me.
City streets, I can understand. Not paying attention, simply not knowing, clutter of other signs, looking for your destination...but places like I-10, 610, the Causeway, etc. just doesn't make any sense to go fast enough that would warrant being pulled over IMO

How many tickets have I gotten? A bunch- speeding, running stop signs, reckless driving

How many are on my record? 0

All dismissed in court, or dropped beforehand. Most of the time paid a lawyer $200 to keep it off my record. Would rather pay a lawyer than a local govt any day of the week. My insurance company is happier too.

I usually get pulled over 5 or 6 times a year on average and am ticketed about 50% of the time.

Never had any bad altercations during a traffic stop, and am usually very respectful and honest about knowing how fast I was going - as I've found that goes a long way towards being given a warning.

Can't stand driving slow or being stuck in traffic.

Got speeding ticket on causeway a few months ago. I was running home to get my little kids off the bus (wife wasn't home). Prick pulled me over at end of the bridge. I explained I was in a hurry and had two little kids getting of a bus in 10 minutes (I even asked if I could run home then come back or could he follow me and we can do the ticket or whatever he wanted). He took my license and reg and sat in his fricking car for over 15 mins on purpose. Came back gave me a ticket and the ole "drive safely". My kids were standing on my porch.

concealed carry permit has gotten me off on warning 3 times and once the speed limit sign was obstructed and the ticket was thrown out.

No offense but I have to think that you must look like some kind of criminal or something for that to have happened. I could never in a million years imagine that happening to me over an unpaid parking ticket.

No idea how many. No bad altercations. Two closest were:

Got stopped once on Leon C. Simon, leaving UNO. In my gramps caddy, with digital speedometer. I was going 32. Cop waived me over to the end of the line of cars. I was pissed. Stuck my head out yelled to him "I was going 32". He looked at me like I was a retard and said "Yeah you're in a school zone a-hole." I said "oh. I'll just wait here then."

Got stopped on my way to high school, speed trap, was in the middle of smoking a J with my buddy. That was close. Don't know how the cop didn't smell it and figure it out. Especially when I looked at my buddy, who I told to eat the joint, and see smoke drifting out from under his seat.

This is so completely opposite of my driving record it almost seems made up (I know it's not). I just don't understand how someone keeps driving like that if they continue to get ticketed. I also can not think of many times where i'm in that much of a rush either. Just a habit of going fast?
