Is there a way to get basic channels like NBC, Fox, etc. with an antenna? If so, any suggestions?

I REALLY want to drop cable. I am tired of paying so much for 100 channels I don't use.

Troll? Yes, any decent antenna will get NBC and FOX as long as you live somewhat near a tower.

No, I just want recommendations on an antenna you dick.

I have paid for cable packages for as long as I have been an adult. Never dealt with an antenna except with tailgates and I can't remember if they get Fox/NBC/ABC/etc.

just search this board. lots of info and recommendations have been posted.

quick and dirty:
-go to tvfool.com and run a report for your address
-look at the report
-look at the legend on the report
-note which stations are reasonably attainable
-note how many miles away stations are
-buy an antenna that will reach that far

I honestly didn't know what channels antennas can pick up. Why is that weird? I'm 27 and never had an antenna before. I just pay for extensive cable packages.

Damn kids.

j/k I'm about 6 years older and vividly remember the shenanigans involved in watching tv back in the old days.

Cable companies have done a good job of convincing people that you can't get TV without them.

I bought the RCA rip off of the Mohu at Walmart for like $30. Moved it to the attic and have been really pleased with it.

if you live in any decent size city, you can pick them up with a $10 set of rabbit ears...it will be perfect 1080 HD picture, too...

I set up a digital tv with a set of rabbit ears from radio shack on gamedays in baton rouge and pick up approximately 15 channels...
