Mickey needs to come back the most out of the 2. With the type of games Mickey plays an NCAA tournament run would do wonders for his draft stock. Plus Mickey would be a lot better if Elbert would develop over the summer. Mickey is playing out of position playing with a true center like Elbert would make Mickey so much better.

Martin should go, he can improve a lot over the summer and he will get drafted just not very high. Mickey on the other hand doesn't havr near the potential and should probably be a 4 year player unless he devotes a legit post game and stretches his mid range game out about another 4 foot.hes a elite college rim protector but he's not a elite defender.

The question for Martin is if he stays is there anything he can improve?
Definitely. With Simmons & Blakeney pulling defenses out, Martin will probably have less traffic in the lane and can work on finishing strong at the basket. He needs to OWN the paint for 40 minutes. That would get him into the Top 15.
If he committed himself to the weight room for the next 9 months...that alone would get some attention. It shows dedication and that is what GM's look for. Martin basically needs to make himself THE target for a few NBA teams and that will make the kid some $$.

Are you guys sure they would actually progress in college under JJ?.
Maybe Martin sees no upside to staying and can be better developed in the NBA.

As if he could defend well to begin with.

Uhhhh, there's plenty you can say about JJ, but lack of player development is definitely not one of them. JOB, TQ, Shavon, Stringer, both M&M boys, even ADP all made strides under CJJ. Each player he has coached has gotten better from year to year under JJ, except Hickey.

Nbadraft.net has Mickey 31, not Martin

I wanted to start a thread on this, but I'll just post this question in this one.
If you were building an NBA team from scratch (only with players currently in college), would you draft either Martin or Mickey?
Similar question: How would you feel if your favorite NBA team drafted Martin or Mickey?
As a Pels fan, of course I would want Martin over Mickey, but even without AD I still do not want Mickey.

I think Martina an be a late lotto pick if he stayed

Mickey has way too many turnovers, and at 6'8 he needs to work on his mid range shots and become more of a Brandon Bass type player. He definitely needs to come back for another year.

I'm not saying I disagree with anything here, but are there any mocks put together by someone with known credibility? Maybe someone that works for a big media outlet that has connections with scouts and GM's?
Most of these just look like mocks put together by various Joe Blows on blogs

a lot of these sites are reputable….3 "experts" from CBS sports have 1st round mocks with Martin and Mickey in none of them.
In more words or less, we aren't as talented as we seem. For perspective, Kentucky has 6 players all rated higher than our #1 player yet we still took them down to the wire.
If both M&M come back, we sign Malik, you are looking at a team with 5 1st rounders….Malik and Simmons are no doubt 1 & done

The NBA has established two draft declaration dates. All players who wish to be drafted, and are not automatically eligible, must declare their eligibility no later than 60 days before the draft. After this date, prospective draftees may attend NBA pre-draft camps and individual team workouts to show off their skills and obtain feedback regarding their draft positions. A player may withdraw his name from consideration from the draft at any time before the final declaration date, which is 10 days before the draft. A player who declares for the draft will lose his college eligibility, even if he is not drafted, if any of the following is true:
The player signs with an agent.
The player has declared for and withdrawn from a previous draft. Although the NBA collective bargaining agreement allows a player to withdraw twice,[1] the NCAA only allows one withdrawal.
When a player is selected in the first round of the draft, the team that selected him is required to sign him to at least a one-year contract. Teams own the rights to players selected in the second round for three years, but the teams are not required to sign them.

Either a typo or those guys are idiots.
Mickey is not a nba player.he's basically Aminu, but cant guard nba 3's. Pretty worthless skill set for the nba.

What? Mickey is just as good if not better than Martin this year.

Are you serious? Martin doesnt do ANYTHING great, so pick any aspect of playing basketball and Martin can improve on it.

his post game
his jump shot
his ability to get to the rim off the dribble
his ability to finish at the rim when the dunk isnt there
his isolation defense (90% of whats played in the NBA)
unlike many, his game can grow. he is green. he is not limited like JOB or Mickey. He has perfect NBA measurables. He just needs time to get better at BASKETBALL
If he didn't have things to work on, then he'd be a top 5 pick. Every player goes into the league with a lot to work on. Martin will need to improve his 3 pt shot (down 6-7% from last year), but speed and strength will come regardless of him coming back or not.

Neither possess what the nba covets at this time. Can't create shots, can't finish strong, can't handle ball well enough to play 3, can't defend down low or on perimeter. Hopefully they get honest encouragement from their families ...
My stock answer on this season long debate . If you watch the nba its
Very apparent how accurate this is
