Keeping crabs fresh

Got a hamper of crabs this evening. How can I keep them good for a boil tommorow evening. Temp will get to 35 tonight. Have access to ice and can keep in my garage or patio

Just keep them on ice in a closed ice chest

Open ice chest. Ice on bottom. Cover the ice with a wet towel. Crabs on top of that. Bingo........

Burlap will work as well if you don't keep "shop" towels around.

They need air, so don't close the chest. Wet Spanish moss or seaweed works in lieu of a towel or burlap. They need moisture and cool temps, but not below freezing.
