Gasol was a ridiculously good signing this offseason. I thought he was trending downward, but it seems like he just wasn't motivated to play for a crap Lakers team, and I can't blame him for that.

Yep...

I said in the preseason, even without Rose this Chicago team would be much better.

Signing Gasol was huge. Getting Mirotic gave them a shooting threat they didn't have outside of Dunleavy, and Mirotic has been very good lately. Butler taking his game not just to the next level, but multiple levels. And Tony Snell is much better as well.

And Noah is still there and is 1 of the most unique skill sets in the game.

There was some arse clown who just argued it was a terrible signing because of some analytic shite. I don't care what any numbers in the world say, Gasol is a perfect fit for this team. Then again, in the same article he campaigns for more Mirotic playing time, so 1 out of 2 ain't bad.

I missed the end. I'd ask what happened, but I know Scott Brooks happened.

As a Chicagoan, I find this team a lot easier to root for when Rose is out.

It wasn't that at all. D'antoni had no clue how to use him and he was nicked up. It wasn't at all for a lack of effort.

Well, to be fair it was a great play by Moore and Gasol, Moore passed the ball to Gasol in the post and Westbrook went to double team, Gasol immediately passed it back to Moore and he hit a three to put the Bulls up by 2 with 2.1 seconds left. Then Westbrook stepped out of bounds on the inbound pass after a timeout.

ETA: E'Twaun fricking Moore scored 13 in the 4th quarter and only missed 1 shot the entire game.

This was still the bigger issue. The ball was inbouded right into a trap.

I actually agree...

They have so many quality players on the floor that they all deserve touches and shot attempts. With Rose, it's his ball and his shots. And IMO the 2 guys who struggle the most with Rose out there is Noah and Butler, on the offensive end at least. Noah had 9 assists tonight and was makings great passes. As weird as it sounds, I want him at the high post running the O. And Butler is a solid shooter, but is a rhythm shooter. He's an attack first kinda guy and thats limited with Rose on the floor because he's so ball dominant.

The Bulls don't need Rose to be what he was a few year ago. If Rose could be a pass first guard that averaged 15ppg and like 9 assists, they would be a much better team. And when you are playing with guys like Noah, Gasol, Butler, Mirotic, Dunleavy, etc. 9 assists should be pretty easy to come by.

Well Thib, and everyone else for that matter, knew Westbrook was getting the ball.

He put Noah on the in-bounds guy, and when the ball was thrown in he jumped Westbrook for the double team.

Brooks played right into their hands and Thib had the perfect call on.

Yeah. Quite honestly, it's fun to blame Brooks. But if KD is there, it's not so obvious that Westbrook is getting the ball for sure. They don't have a player I would trust in that spot besides Westbrook.

I like Westbrook too, but anything to make Harden look better and other MVP candidates look worse is my MO.

Even though that 3 went in, I would prefer if Aminu (27% from 3) would stop taking those shots. It's just not a smart play.

I really hate that I've caught myself pulling against Westbrook a couple of times recently because of this MVP race. He's probably my favorite non-Rocket, and he was my preseason MVP pick.

You should be pulling against Westbrook so his team doesn't make the playoffs before pulling against him so Harden can win MVP!
