Always sue...you are suing the insurance company and not the person ..All insurance companies are looking shafts people.

In most cases we deal with, I welcome working with attorneys because in a lot of cases, they know the value and can talk sense into client. The worst claimant's are the ones that were in a 5 MPH fender bender, go to chiro for 6 weeks, and then call and want 150K because they have a friend that got it, and saw a Morris Bart commercial saying he can get it for them. I'm like, I think you should get an attorney and have him call me.

I shouldn't be surprised that those people exist in the world, but that's wild The more I hear these stories and pick the brains of people involved, the more I feel I lucked out by landing where I did right out of school.

They forced your hand. Nothing to feel bad about. I have little concern really for insurance companies. They exist to make money off people.

There are some awful adjusters in this world as well. I have a family member dealing with U.S. Agencies, and I swear, don't know how they don't get shut down by the Insurance Commissioner. Just horrible. They won't act until forced by an attorney.
Many more good attorneys out there than bad, and most are just legit trying to make a living and help out. I respect them. Glad you sound like you hooked up with a group like that. But it's funny, even within firms, you will get a few decent attorneys, and the one asshat. When I see the letterhead, I'm always hoping not to see the asshat's signature on the letter.
BTW, I resigned this morning and will be starting in a new position with a much bigger company and much more responsibility. A little nervous with the change, but excited at the same time.

I've been lucky; I've only had a handful of experiences with adjusters that left a bad taste in my mouth. Most all I've dealt with have been pleasant to work with.
And this may come off as arrogant, but it's always nice to have the option to file suit and deal with a (presumably) more level-headed defense attorney. We screen liability pretty hard on the intake, so we always have litigation as a fall back on soft tissue cases.

Not arrogant at all, that's just business. I see some adjusters that want suit filed because they feel like less work on them, as they'll just push it off on defense counsel and make them do discovery. Lazy, but it's true.

Exactly. It's just like any other business. They owe you, they pay. Simple business transaction and no need to feel bad for them for providing a service that they are paid to provide.
