Everyone is going to disagree, and this is no surprise here, but he's a character I both despise, and think was terrible. What makes him worse is that he ruined the show and became a cheap way to continue certain storylines over and over and over again. At least 3 characters should have offed him at various points. He was only supposed to have a small role, and that was expanded, much to the decline of the show....
And it didn't really recover until he went to the background. It was a great experience, but it could have been a really great show if they didn't use him as a crutch at. Every. Single. Junction. Shoe-horning him at every moment just because, people thought he was cool. He wasn't! He made the entire show seem unnatural and forced for a long, long time. He's probably the most convenient character to ever exist in a tv show. A walking deus ex machina of epic proportions.Ugh.
$%#&-ing Benjamin Linus. Almost the sole reason for Lost falling apart.
