Do you eat lunch by yourself at a restaurant? If so, where?

I work from home and only occasionally meet someone for lunch. When I am not meeting someone for lunch, I usually fix something at home or grab some food from somewhere and bring it back home to eat. But sometimes it is nice to simply get out of the house. It just seems weird to go to a restaurant by myself.

I either bring my lunch or go home everyday, but in the past I have and think nothing of it.

If I'm craving something that a particular restaurant has, why shouldn't I go get it just because I'm solo? Hell, I go to movies by myself too. I'm not insecure about it. Do what you want man.

Yeah, and I eat anywhere I like. Sometimes I prefer to eat by myself as long as I have something to read like a newspaper or Business Report or something.

When you travel for work, you get over that pretty quickly. I always look for non-chain places when I'm out of town. I will take customers most of the time, but if not, I always make sure to ask locals that seem trustworthy (not trashy.)

I used to work at night, so I ate lunch all the time by myself at restaurants. Fun to go to the new places and not pay dinner entree prices.

I eat lunch and dinner by myself at times. I enjoy the alone time.

I don't think it's weird.

ETA: Also, I like sushi and the gf hates it, so most of them time when I have a craving I'm eating it alone.

Me too. But some times I go to Costco and get a Polish Hot Dog and drink for $1.67

Just about every day. I don't like eating in the kitchen at work. I like to get out.

When I am really jammed, I take the paper and go to the Pic. Sit way back in the corner in a booth. I leave my phone behind. Best part of those days. Nobody talking to me for 45 minutes. Love. It.

It's not. Bring a book or your phone to read or watch a show on. Nothing weird about it all. It's how I eat lunch quite often. 30 minutes out of the office to clear my head, get away from the office bullshite, including the people, and then get back at it. And I'm not alone in doing that.

If I have a big "errand day" and I happen to pass by a place I've never been but have some interest in - I'll eat lunch by myself.

Usually at the bar. Always end up having a good conversation on two.

Yeah it's nice sometimes especially if weather is nice and you are sitting on a patio of restaurant with good food, a drink and plenty of time to enjoy your meal while reading.

I really like going to Chinese buffets by myself for lunch. No they aren't incredible dining experiences but I just get to chill out and do things on my own. No waiters or anyone to deal with either. Usually throw on a podcast or something and just take my time.

I prefer eating by myself. Doesn't bother me at all. If you fell weird, pretend to be texting or working on your phone.

Good feedback in this thread. I'm going to start doing it on occasion.
