This is one of the best bullshite hypothetical questions I've ever seen.

I'm a pretty low risk person by nature, so I'd decline. I know myself, and after the first 10 if I hadn't made it, I'd be freaking myself out mentally for each shot after.

Yes. Likelihood of hitting 1 out of 20 is probably around 50%-- assuming you are athletic and have played the sport.
I'd sell part of my upside to cap the downside. For instance, I'd strike a deal with a bettor for an even split if I made it: $10mil to me, $10mil to the bettor. If I missed, I'd get $1.5mil transferred from the bettor and then spend 2 years in prison.
That 2 years wouldn't be bad because you'd have access to money from the outside and a decent payday upon release.

I don't get how people are saying they would make it pretty easily in 20 shots. I've played basketball for a long time and am considered the stereotypical white three point specialist and I'm not sure I could make one. Have you people tried hitting a 1/2 court shot before? Even for experienced players it is a long shot to make one.

People TEND to be overconfident in their abilities. Everyone thinks they are a great driver, but most are just average of course.
I really think 1 out of 20 is about 25-50% chance for most guys that have grown up playing and are decently athletic.

Yeah. Unless you practice half court shots often, your odds aren't overwhelmingly good.
I play a lot of basketball but I never practice half-court shots. I think I'd make about 1.5 out of 20 on average... which would probably mean the logical thing to do is go for the 20 mil.
