What did the kid do to instigate this again?

Per JPSO:

As the detectives walked near a crowd of 20 to 30 people at 9:38 p.m., they saw and heard several people shouting, "F--- the cops." The detectives made contact with the group, identified themselves as members of the Sheriff's Office and told the crowd to leave because the parade was over.

Becker was in the group. The detectives walked away in hopes the crowd would calm down and leave. A few seconds later, the group began chanting the same refrain. Becker was screaming "F--- the police," joined by about five or six others.

The detectives identified Becker as the "main instigator" of the chanting, causing others to become irate and aggressive towards the deputies. Because the group seemed to be out of control and refused to leave, the detectives again approached Becker, still chanting.

This time, the detectives smelled alcohol and burned marijuana wafting from the crowd. Breaux again identified himself as being from the Sheriff's Office.

Becker then pushed Breaux in the chest, saying, "F--- you, pig." Breaux grabbed Becker's arm and told him he was under arrest. Breaux tried to put Becker on the ground in a "prone position" to be handcuffed.

They probably measured him at the minor level which much lower than .08.

Just to be clear how drunk he was, he was at .14 correct? I've always been told all it takes to get to .08 (legal adult driving limit) is 2 beers in one hour. So let's estimate he had 4 beers in an hour. It would take a lot more than that to get me drunk to the point where I can't control myself. The 7x number sounds great for character assassination and all though. Funny that he fails to mention the track record of this police officer when it comes to excessive force cases. Per usual though instead of looking at the actual incident at hand, the police try the character assassination tactic.

That's what Newell's whole dog and pony show was about yesterday. The fact that JPSO had someone go looking on this kid's facebook page and presented pictures of this kid drinking with his mom the day after this incident just proves how ridiculous they're being about all of this.

Does anyone know what they were attempting to arrest him for in the first place? I don't think an MIP is an arrestable offense but I could be wrong. If it is we couldn't house all the under age drinkers during Mardi Gras with all the space in Louisiana jails combined.

So they identified themselves twice, yet the 30+ witnesses supposedly said they didn't?

Inciting a riot and battery on an officer is the PC for arrest.

Hence them saying Becker pushed Breaux and the large group of 30+ people. Battery and riot. All BS.

If this is true, I don't have an issue with the cop's actions. Sorry not sorry.

If it's true, that is.

I'd believe the supposedly 30+ witnesses and what the video shows.

You seem to be in every cop thread...

You think it's more believable the cop decided to randomly play knockout with a kid's face?

Breaux probably needs to look up what the prone position is because he had the perfect opportunity to get him there at the beginning of the video in the OP.

They claim he says he drank a half bottle of crown.

A 1/2 pint bottle is like three or four shots.

Stated earlier two shots mixed with coke.

Cops conviently left out size of bottle.

These videos always seem to leave off what the "victim" did to instigate these situations. The video is pretty useless if the instigation isn't captured.

Well...you have to say that for the gist so a judge will believe you had PC for arresting him for inciting a riot.

I would bet $100 these cops heard some drunk kids yelling "f*&K the police", went over there to intimidate them and when Becker mouthed off to him, Breaux tried to illegally arrest him.

From that point on, it's just about Breaux and JPSO finding something they can put in the gist and police report that shows PC and protects them.

Breaux is facing 4 charge:
-inciting a riot
-resisting a police officer
-battery on a police officer
-poss of alcohol under 21

It isn't useless at all, it just doesn't show the entire story which is why I included the 30+ witnesses.
