Maybe now they all stay

Maybe now they all stay for next year and win the national championship. I think that the lack of depth on this team and all the minutes are adding up and they are simply out of gas imo. Ben Simmons, Antonio Blackeney and maybe Malik Newman will add to the depth and could possibly win it all. Martin & Mickey need 1 more year and the Tigers could finally get that national championship in basketball....regardless of who stays next year going to be fun!!

The problem is $500k > National Championship. Johnny has to try to convince them that if they come back they could potentially double that to $1 million with a big year.

Mickey won't get drafted

Out of the two, he is the one that can actually increase his stock the most by coming back.
Martin can't. He won't play with his back to the basket in the NBA and won't be able to really develope the perimeter game needed at the next level while at LSU.
But, if he lands in the D-League can try to learn it there. To me, it makes the most sense for martin to come back and mickey to leave, but I'm not predicting that.

They both could benefit a lot by staying, neither will be a 1st round pick this year...would be an incredible team next year if both decided to stay. No way we wouldn't win a few games in the tournament next year with:
Mickey
Martin
Simmons
Blakeney
Quarterman
Robinson III
Malone
Victor
Epps
Bridgewater
Hornsby
Patterson
Gray
That's a special team that could do big things, even if we don't get Newman. With Newman, a TON of pressure would be on JJ to not only win a lot of games, but get our 7th final four.

Not being a smartass but genuinely curious: how many minutes would a player like Martin or Mickey play on a weekly average in the NBA where games are longer and they play more more often?

How are they gassed playing twice a week. NBA players play 30-35 mpg 3-4 nights a week.
No excuses

what?
Name something Martin does exceptionally. He can't defend the post, can't defend the wing. Can power through contact when he's aggressive and attacking the rim...which is 5 times a game. Average shooter. Not a great ball handler. What's his position in the NBA right now? Certainly can't play the 3, and certainly can't play the 4. There are glaring weaknesses with both spots

I was walkin' by the side of the road,
Thinkin' I would cook me a meal.
Along beside me came a mad horny toad,
Lookin' for some food he would steal.
So I grabbed the fish and held it up high,
Knowin' toads are known for their jump.
then I looked the toad right in the thighs,
And noticed that they looked mighty plump.

It's not just about that. Professionals are professional and playing basketball is all they do. Student Athletes are just that and don't live eat and breathe basketball, they have to go to class, on top of practice, do homework, take tests, do projects, etc...different lifestyle. There's a reason there's generally only 2 games a week in college basketball.

I see what you're saying, but that's a bit of a stretch. This day in age, it's about basketball. Hell, they miss class half the time anyway to travel

they dont update this stuff daily after each players respective games.
he is not even a fringe NBA player at this point. he would be a late second rounder at best (if that).........imo

Most players will take a game off or coaches will limit their minutes certakn points of season. Also its their career and will be able to train t get bodies ready for grind. Nba rookies oitside of few exceptions always hit the "rookie wall" ...jts part of growing in the league.
As far as martin ya hes moving up boards pretty quic right now. When hes played nba talent like uk adand was able to go in and out effectively it poproved he can do it again top notch talent. Ya he disappears here and there but teams see the potential and that he has done it before.
We just like to take his bad games and claim he sucks..nba scouts just see how he does against talent and now hes showing toughness inside his stock his growing
