Vince Wilfork announced on Twitter the Patriots will not be picking up his 2015 option, making him a free agent. New England saves $8.06 million against the cap by moving on from one of their all-time greats. With all of the Patriots' other offseason commitments (Devin McCourty, Darrelle Revis, etc.), Wilfork had to see this coming. Big Vince said he is not considering retirement, and coming off a decent run-stopping season, we wouldn't expect him to. It will be interesting to see how the market shapes out for the 33-year-old. Wilfork went to five Pro Bowls during his 11-year stay in Foxboro and won two Super Bowls. The Patriots drafted his possible replacement, Dom Easley, in the first round last year.
Thanks for the memories big Vince hope you get some good money on the open market

If the Packers let BJ Raji walk I could see them making a play.

Sorry to see him go, but Silvear Siligia (sp) at this point is probably the equal if not better player.
Dom Easley is not a replacement for Big Vince, I don't who wrote that article, but Easely was drafted for his lighting quick first step that may or may not still exist.

I could see him in Miami if they fall short of getting Suh
The AFCEast loves signing each other's free agents. Especially ex patriots

Hopefully not. He's up there with Matt Flynn on the "Packers who had a couple of good games and somehow are treated like all-stars" list.

Any time you get a chance to draft a DT that might not have ACLs anymore in the first round, you've got to do it

Ehhh I disagree. He isn't a superstar, but he is solid run plugger and has crazy endurance for fat man so they over played him (most % of snaps at his position I believe by a lot). I think if Packers limit his snaps he'd be even more effective, but I think he'd fit perfectly in Belichick's D.

Need to figure out how to sign McCourty and Revis before touching anyone else though

The early speculation out of NE is that they are just going to plug in Sileaver (sp) and start going with a more attack oriented front 7. Chandler Jones has been held back for a couple of years now because of the read react defense Bill likes to play, but now that you have elite players and athletes (big assumption that Easley gets his quickness back) an attacking front seven does make way more sense.

I don't think NE goes for him. I just said he'd fit in there.
Personally, the Packers like BJ a lot so I believe they retain him.

If Easley didn't get injured he would of been a top 3 pick he was the best d lineman
