Alexandria
Pretty much the greatest place to live on Earth. Would never live anywhere else. It's got pretty much everything.

A lot of good people live in and around Alexandria . It may take some time to get to know the area . I like to hunt and fish so that's what I spent every day doing when I wasn't working . They may not have the fine dining establishments of NOLA or BR but is that what you require .

so who is holding the town back?

is it the Baptists now?

I did see that huge expansion that Calvary was working on last time I was down during the holidays

You can go the the new bar the red barn. It has a mechanical bull. Also Alexandria has 4 self serve yogurt places to go to, big stuff I know. If you are good at golf you have 3 decent golf courses to choose from not including bringhurst (par 3 9 holes). You can go to the zoo (wouldn't recommend it). Honestly has good places to eat that are local. I kinda feel bad that you got put in Alexandria. I think it is top 5 in places to retire if that tells you anything. If you want a good laugh listen to 98.7 at night.

I was with you up until this. That Pent/Bapt shite is dumb. Those 2 churches are not "holding" the town back. There is plenty of growth. That conspiracy theory is as dumb as it gets.

What does that mean? Are you that weak minded that you can't discuss the substance of what you started?

It's not a bad city to live in. If you like the outdoors, it has a good bit to offer. There are also a lot of good people here. Night life leaves a lot to be desired but I am too old for that anyway.

what I started?

I stated earlier that the waterfront downtown needs to be developed, and I know that the Pentecostals have blocked the idea of a casino there in the past (my wife's family is very involved in the POA)

now you are going to argue that growth is a bad thing?
