Lived their the first 22 years of my life. Good place to grow up with all of the previously mentioned outdoor activities. For someone post-high school the place sucks. Restaurant scene is weak (Wok, BJs, Cottage- great; Spirits- has recently been rebranded and is a lot better for entertainment and food. Bistro- When I was there, Bistro was good but was always dated. I've heard that it has gone down pretty rapidly. I have a friend who used to eat there regularly but hasn't been in over a year. Nightlife is weaker (Finnegan's is ok, but unless you want to be in the throws of Affliction vs old men hitting on young bartenders, it's all you have)

Hunting, fishing, and bike riding. Sounds great to me.

Any beautiful women there?

It has a couple of McDononalds & Taco Bells. A Chilli's too!

It's a shame that Possum's went under

Road trip with drive thru daquiris to Marksville, Shreveport or Kinder to gamble.

Natchitoches to hang out on front street. Toledo bend to get on the water.

Sometimes they have stuff to do along the river.

But you will never be in the local's inner circle. For which you should be thankful.

And the town is damn serious about kids baseball

Janohn's is owned by a couple of nurses from Rapides Regional. Their son cooks, I think. The food is really good. Bellino's is really good if you like Italian. I would also suggest driving to Marksville and eating at Red River Grill occasionally.
