Let me ask you this. Had Harris completed that hail mary against Mississippi State last year, as a fan, wouldn't you have been embarrassed as shite when the players would have been celebrating a huge come from behind victory in a half empty home stadium?

ETA - If you think he's referring to this basketball game tonight only, you're looking at it wrong. It's another instance of it happening in his eyes and he's speaking up from a player's perspective. Takes guts and I support him 100%

As much as I get where Jamal is coming form I cant fault fans leaving early from a shitty effort after spending money to watch a team give great effort. That goes for coaches and players. The crowd looked like they showed up.

He's still misguided by stating it.

Tonight's game had nothing to do with fan support. Just like LSU losing 5 games in football last season - 3 of them relative blowouts - had nothing to do with fan support.

"The U" averaged less than 55,000 fans per home game in each and every season from 1983-2002 when they won 5 NCs.

I respect what you're saying. You're right. Fans don't play or win games. What he's saying is that when you show us support throughout the entire game, we as fans can give them that extra gear or energy to do their job better. He's also not referring to all fans. It's pointed to the ones who can't wait to discuss LSU's failures before ever giving credit when its due.

I understand and hate that aspect as well. You see the cockroaches come out to point fingers like clockwork. But it's not exclusive to LSU.

You have Saints fans that boo Drew Brees, Pats fans that have heckled Belichick, etc. I think LSU fans are right in tow with the rest of the retards. Every fanbase has them.

But that still has little to do with fans leaving 2-3 minutes prior to the ending of a disaster. If anything, people should be respecting them for subjecting themselves that long.

He has a point. I guess I'm just too old to grasp the attract of cannibalizing our own like happens here daily. I just feel like real fans hang to the final whistles blow, feel the same sting as players when we lose & celebrate with them when we win. I just don't see any upside to do less but I do see plenty of problems with turning your back on a team when they lose - it hurts enough for the players without wishy washy fans piling on.

So what does that mean? Should we bash them or something because they didn't get the victory? That's kind of my point. It sucked and was painful to lose that game but Win/lose, it is MY OPINION to support LSU, the players, etc regardless. Doesn't mean I think coaches and players are perfect, but not showing support or talking shite to college athletes never seems like a positive gain for anyone. Again, just my opinion.

Well, it's not, but neither is talking shite about the fans (unless they're doing something over the line or something). I love how Adams plays, but I'm just saying that the fans had high hopes for the Bama game and stayed the whole time and cheered. But the team blew it at the end. So he's not completely accurate. The fans were incredible for the Ole Miss game as well and we sold our allotment and then some for the bowl game which people thought nobody would be interested in since it was a smaller bowl for us. Our fans are spoiled and they hate playing cupcakes, but that is nothing unique.

He wasn't attacking the fanbase however he could have said it a different way.

I think the point he was trying to get across is that "We're here busting our butts playing for ourselves (that seems to get lost a lot) and everyone watching. We don't want to lose yet even with the game in hand, most leave before it's over."

While the game is more than likely won, I can understand his frustration. He's pointing out what has been scrutinized on here ad nauseam. Crap, even announcers on ESPN have called us out on the same thing.

I still like the way he plays. I don't fault him for saying that but like I said, he could have done it in a different way.

did you basically just say it's ok frorbfans to leave but athletes should stay loyal for four years? Our fans don't even stay loyal for four quarters/two halves.

The way Jamal throws that lazy pass is horrible. I wouldn't stay to watch that crap. I could make a lowlite real of all the lazy, telegraphed passes that he has made..... Pitiful. It's also pitiful that he has to go to twitter to post dumb shite. Good luck overseas bro. Like one poster said, get Rosetta Stone.
