He's been the young vet with playoff experience we needed. Knows his role and works his arse off

Pistons Forward Anthony Tolliver:

On Anthony Davis: “He had one of the most well-rounded games I have ever seen, defensively, offensively, hitting shots, (and) effecting the game in multiple ways. He is a special player. We didn’t make the adjustments that we maybe should have as players, and (it) allowed him to continue to stay in his rhythm. Hopefully, we learn from this experience and move on.”

My favorite play of the night was when Norris Cole fricking jacked Drummond on a fast break. Not pick pocket. Not knock the ball out. Just straight grabbed it with 2 hands and pulled the ball away from a 7 ft 280 lb mound of muscle. It looked like he got lifted off his feet as well. That dude is a competitor. He's basically doing what Holiday was supposed to be doing (guarding the other team's PG and playing complimentary basketball) in a much more limited role.

Jrue-Lite is a good description

He already knows his role and plays within himself(heat game 2 not withstanding but that looks more and more like an anomaly). He's solid on the fast break and he actually has a solid jumper imho. I really think it was a shot selection issue rather than a talent problem.

It's nice having a guard that can match the quickness of some of these guys(like jackson tonight)

For fricking salmons it's robbery

Cole didn't play that great at all. He just ran around like a chicken with his head cut off last night.

I'm not in nut hug mode at all. It all depends on what your expectations are. When we traded for him, I didn't really know much at all about Cole except that he played for the Heat and that he wasn't a very good shooter.

So far, in his ten or so games here, the energy and aggression on defense have been undeniable. He's clearly an inconsistent shooter. But he's easily our best perimeter defender on the active roster right now, and that was on display last night.

There is no "maybe" about it, Anthony...they left AD for a wide open 17 footer when they absolutely had to have a stop. Adjustments are hard to make when you have your head up your arse.

Well done, Pels...both teams really needed that one.

Tyreke got ratted out for saying AD looked like shite in shoot around. During the practice presser today Monty was asked:

quote:

Tyreke was rather colorful last night in explaining Anthony's shoot around performance as not very good, did anything give you an indication at shoot around yesterday that he was going to have the game that he did last night.

Monty: No...I could describe Tyreke's shoot around also *chuckles*
