Looking to set up a media room in my house and want to put in a projector with 110 inch screen. Right now I'm looking at the Epson 3020 but not sure if I shouldn't be looking at a BenQ.

Trying to keep the price below 2k on the projector.

Update! Ordered last week and got the Epson 3500 in today. Got it set up and it was really to get everything set. The picture is pretty incredible.

I'm extremely pleased. Once the speakers and receiver are set up it will be pretty amazing.

projectors are awesome.

hard to tell you which one to get without knowing more about your situation. I have the epson 8350 and it works well for me. Its one of the most versatile projectors.

I agree . Need more information regarding your set-up. If you haven't already, make sure you use the projector calculator with your set-up for each potential model here: LINK. It'll show you the optimal throw distances, screen size, etc.

Ps...I have the Epson 8350 too and I love it. Very versatile.

It's a decent size room. It's 16ft X 25ft. Planning on putting it where it would be about 15ft between the screen and the projector. Planning on putting 110" screen.

Now I'm looking at the Epson 3500 and it looks pretty good. Brighter output.

Looking at the Denon AVR-X4100w receiver and Axiom Audio Epic Midi 175 speakers

I have a BenQ W1070
And I love it. There is a short throw model if you need it to. The short throw will project a 120" image from 6 feet away. Mine does 120" from 12 ft.

I put a beating on my projector. it literally stays on from 8 am till 9-10pm every day. I buy the cheap bulbs from amazon and send them back if they dont have good quality. I didnt think it would last this long but its done well. I actually just picked up a used one off of craigslist for $300 that looked like it was barely used, just so I can have a backup.

So, I ordered the Epson 3500. After doing some research I think it will be the best for what I'm wanting to do.

You'll love it, especially the lens shift feature. Congrats.

Awesome, epson is incredible, as a part of my job I actually work with Epson projectors and they are extremely well made, congratulations!

Whatever you get, it will need calibrating. My calibration skills on my Optoma projector (purchased in 2005 and on its third lamp) is why I haven't purchased another. I use Digital Video Essentials, plus an i1-Pro analyzer. It always looks great and I touch it up about every six - seven months.
