Why do you care this much if people want to have a party with their friends and family and also tell them the gender of their baby
You don't bring gifts, attendance is optional, and food and alcohol is almost always provided. What a crime.

Guess so. I've known of only about three or four of these. Not exactly my cup of tea but nothing to get upset about either.

Really? So to hell with high school and college graduations, sports championships, birthdays, or anything else in this world that causes you to interact with other humans. Let's all live in caves and have contact with the outside world.

Oh I'm not upset and have been to 4 or so in the last year. Just wanted to know your thoughts on it.

Bc outside of mom dad granny and papaw and perhaps aunt Bessie nobody else fricking cares.
Send me a text or tell me next time we are hanging out.
It's a by product of the Facebook look at me generation.
You asked.. Best answer I can give.

Was yours a boy or a girl?
Posted on 3/4/15 at 12:02 pm to PapaPogey
we did for our first child, but i doubt we do it this time.... hell, i don't want any "sprinkle" party or whatever else comes with having a 2nd kid... we already have all the shite we need, and if we don't, i'll go get it myself, without the pomp and circumstance of a party......

Essentially, these are my thoughts
From a Clay Travis blog a few weeks back.. I think he nailed it.
quote:
JUST TELL US THE SEX OF YOUR GODDAMN BABY!
You can either tell everyone or you can wait until the birth and be surprised. Those are the only two options. If you insist upon doing these gender reveal parties then stipulate that only women are ever invited. Because I can guarantee you this, no man cares enough about the sex of a baby to willingly attend the gender reveal party.
The whole thing is just so emasculating. This is what every husband is really thinking: "Great, I''m having a girl and I just found out by eating a cupcake in front of forty people. My life is fricking over." This is what every one of his buddies is thinking at the gender reveal party. "God, I remember when Johnny drank an entire bottle of Jack Daniel's and screwed two different girls on the same day at Panama City Beach spring break 2003. His life has really gone to shite."
No one other than your parents and her parents want to come to a party and see what sex your baby is going to be. Trust me.

At least it makes sure the dad knows what color the push present should be.

How many gender parties has your wife put you through?
I've been to two. One at a friend's lake house with a band and kegs. One at a friend's house with ribs on the grill and intense games of drunk bocce ball. So people also happen to have blue or pink cake - more power to them - cake tasted good.

Typical for attention seeking women.

Are these quotes straight from my mouth?

Stupid and histrionic. Your child is not as important to others as your attention craving arse would like to think.

The only place I've ever heard of them was on this board. Must be something new and regional.

Lame. But fortunately I don't have any friends doing this.
