UGA looking good early but only way you can beat UK is to either match them in depth and talent which almost no-one can do, or get a big run early and never look back (they usually come back anyway) or get a late run and win it.

UGA can't win a back and forth game UK will win this easy if that happens.

This. In fact, it's possible for LSU to fall to the 6 seed by having UGA and ole miss win out and LSU go 1-1 this week.

At this point we'd be in over ole miss we beat them twice. It looks like UK UGA in the east and arky, aggies, and LSU in the west. The odd man out now is ole miss, and they still might get an 11 or 12 seed

Agreed LSU needs two more wins to solidify. BTW if we somehow beat arky ,UT and get to the final in the SEC tourney. I think LSU is. 6 seed

Root for UK. We want to be the only team this year that beats them.

This was what I was thinking the answer would be when starting the thread. I'm not well versed in the intricacies of tournament selection and seeding however. But then again, who is?

Just saw that, I'm a big Kansas fan also, so I'm a little neutral.

There aren't divisions in basketball and haven't had divisions for a few seasons now.

maybe I'm totally clueless..but how does it possibly help LSU for uk to win?

You lost to UK.
You beat UGA.

UK will have a top 2 RPI at the end of the season regardless of what happens so that's basically irrelevant. Seems like you'd want all the teams you've beaten to finish as high as possible.

I'm surprised as anyone as how well WVU has played the first half.

And KU fan aside, some questionable calls - especially the T against WVU - WVU would be up by 20.

We may be competing with you for one of the final spots in the field, not rooting for any bubble teams unless I have to.

Simple answer?

LSU and UGA could be competing for the same NCAAT bid. Same thing with Ole Miss, UGA, LSU and TAMU.

The only SEC LOCKS are UK and ARK. If SEC doesn't get 6, then one of the 4 aforementioned will get left out.

Considering Lunardi has Georgia as a 9 seed and us as a 10, Id say it would be beneficial to have Georgia lose tonight.

It's pretty simple.

Honestly though despite their RPI, I would think aTm is odd man out. They have beaten LSU yes, but aside from that they have zero quality wins. Their next best win is florida I believe.

Ole miss/uga/lsu have all had ups and downs but at least those 3 teams have some nice resume building wins, and all the current bracketology bears that out.
