Sporting News Top 10 Program Rankings

quote:

No other program in college football has been depleted by early entries to the NFL(17 in the last two years alone), and still continued to play at such a high level. That's a credit to not only coach Les Miles and his staff, but to the program's ability to attract players with the foundation in place. There's no better stadium in college football, and the state of Louisiana is wildly underrated for high school talent.

Florida comes in at #5 on the list with Alabama coming in at #7.

With Texas ranked above us, I am not so sure this is a good thing. Seems it doesn't take much to make the list.

Awful list, how could Alabama not be first. I don't like them either but this is a joke.

Because there is football and population outside the SEC.

Because there are no SEC officials that work for Sporting News

He is right about staying competitive when we've been depleted; it is nothing sort of amazing and I don't think any other school has done it, or could do it; but, there is the conundrum of being depleted in the first place. (Players stay their senior year at the other schools more, although I'm beginning to notice more SEC players from other programs are leaving early)

LSU = NFLU and I had to laugh at Urban Meyer trying to claim the title the other day. He's a fabulous game day coach, better than ours, but nobody develops players for the NFL like LSU. Fact.

That article is going to drive the SECR crazy.
