When I managed truck drivers out of Houston the procedure was to see who gets ticketed for what and speak directly to the driver in person. Every situation is different but anytime a driver recieves a first time ticket they would be suspended or stuck on local deliveries for a week. Any second offense, no matter how small, is fired in the spot. The trucking industry doesn't play around with that shite

Several companies won't even look at an application if that driver has had a ticket within 5 years.

If it was my driver and I see that video I'm bitching him out whether it was his fault or not because chances are I would have already been bitched out myself

At the very end of the video, only one vehicle passes the trucker and VW that are on the shoulder and even if others slowed down, there should have been more than just a Honda Fit passing the truck and VW on the shoulder by that point. I would wager that this Honda was in the right lane further back, then the trucker moved into the left lane to pass the Honda and then being as they were going up a hill with the right lane trucker coming up, decided to stay in the left lane and pass that truck at the crest of the hill. But the zippy-zip Altima and VW weren't standing for that. Note how the Altima hits the brakes before merging and rides them after merging. Then the VW does almost the same thing. Both those asshats were in the wrong. Before that point, the truck was moving at a good speed to overtake the the right lane truck, with a good gap between it and the blue truck. Both Altima and VW took away that gap. Anyone who says the trucker is at fault is plain stupid, and needs to have their license revoked since if they can bitch on this board about the trucker, then they likely would do the same as the Altima and VW and cut truckers off, beleiving it is okay to do so. Do us a favor and don't breed.

If the truck would have forced his way over to the left lane people would be singing a different toon. Was the truck driver a dick? Yes, but she was at fault he had the right of way.

Well yeah, then he would be at fault for forcing a lane change just like the driver in this video. Of course people would be "singing a different tune"

It was tough squeeze but the car should have gassed it some more. The truck driver saw her trying to get in on the left side. He could have just braked and laid on the horn to show she was being an arse by trying to cut him off.

Thank god the other 18 wheeler noticed what was going on and moved all the way to the shoulder on the right side of the road to stay out of it.

Dumb arse move by both drivers.

Yeah ok, if you say so, I know Walmart does that. I worked for years in a yard of a WM distribution center. moving trailers around.

A high % of these drivers are not well trained, I'm not gonna name companies, I saw their driving skills, or lack of.

Walmart was actually the exact company I was thinking of when saying that. They had a distribution center next to my old companies yard so I got to hear all about how they pay their drivers better and every other truck stop bullshite line from my drivers.

Why do you say "yeah ok, if you say so" and then agree with my point?

The accident would not have happened if the truck driver would have just braked. Some times our own pride and stubbornness gets the best of us.

Is not braking really worth taking someone's life when you are driving a big truck and they are in a small car?

Like I said before. Hit the brake. Let her in and drive up close and lay on the horn for a solid 30 seconds. You prove your point and nobody gets hurt.

Gotcha...there is no law that denies you the right to speed up while someone is trying to get over. He was being a dick but that isn't against the law, he held is lane and actually tried to avoid contact with her.

Ask Tracy Morgan what he thinks about WM drivers...

He's at the age where spelling a username is a gram of ground up weed seems cool. Don't let him bother you too much

That's kind of my point.

As a professional, for a multiude of reasons, you would want to avoid a wreck, at fault or not.

All these guys saying "he had a right" never bought GL insurance.
