Finally! It's March 3rd, and basketball is relevant (in terms of an NCAA bid).

It's been relevant all season, casual fans are just talking about it now.

Nice job SOS. Whether or not the 3-pt. shooting is on for the Tigers, they need to dominate the defensive boards and push the ball to score off of the break and secondary breaks. The penetrating high low action worked well the last game and should play a part in this contest as well. The Tigers have shown excellent patience of late in their half-court sets and TQ is becoming a master at finding seams in the zone as well as working the pick and pop against man and zone.
Tigers should win yet another by double figures, and IMO will thereby secure a place in the dance regardless of what happens at Bud Walton or the SECT.

I was mainly referring to the fact that its March 3rd and we're still relevant compared to the recent past.

Looking forward to this game tomorrow night. This would be a spot where the "bad" Tigers might show up sandwiched between a big win over Ole Miss and an upcoming game with Arkansas. However, I think this team has turned that corner and will come out ready to play.

As a fan I'm being greedy. I want them to win the next two so LSU can get to a 6th or 7th seed.

Teams are double and tripling him and forcing him to try to dribble/pass which he can't do well, leading to turnovers. That plus his lack of strength, makes it hard for him to get his easy baskets. He can't back down bigger forwards in the post like he was earlier in the season against inferior opponents

Just some reasons why he's not ready yet for the NBA

Certainly would be nice to have 3 straight double digit wins in our pocket.

I still think Tigers need two more wins to feel safely in the NCAA. Still worried about small conference upsets in tournament play with auto bids and the SEC getting 6 teams invited.

Small conferences only get one bid...regardless of who wins or doesn't win. The only exception might be the OVC. It's not like 4-5 spots will be taken off the board.

Exactly. That was the case with the NIT who gives auto bids to any team who wins their conference regular season but loses the tournament. Otherwise it shouldn't be an issue for NCAAT.

It is the mid size conferences I am worried about and should have made that clear. Several of these have 1 or two teams with higher RPIs than LSU. I didn't look it up currently, but I did two games ago. Sure these upset winners may only take two or three spots away, but if the Tigers go 1-2 at the end are you guys telling me you will not be sweating on selection Sunday? I will! SOS?

I'd feel pretty confident in our chances, but of course I'd still have some doubts... Still think it should be enough.

I still think we have a shot at 6/7 seed if we can win our next 4... Could end up 3rd/4th in SEC and in the championship of the SECT... Still have a lot of room to wiggle our way up higher.

His lack of weight and strength is definitely a big factor. He has to work harder to bang with the bigger guys and I think fatigue has set in. CJJ should give him some rest in practice and let him recharge his engine.

That's not necessarily true. For instance, teams like Wofford, Davidson, Iona, La Tech and Stephen F. Austin all have resumes to at least be considered for "at-large" spots. What happens if none of those teams win their conf. tournament? The argument that reg. season champ Wofford is more deserving than the 6th place team from the SEC or Big 12 can certainly be made. What happens if Gonzaga gets bounced from their conf. tourney. by someone like Pepperdine? That could mean 3 teams coming from a conference that my have otherwise only sent 1 or 2 teams.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong but don't we want Ole miss to keep their RPI above 50. A loss to bama would drop them below. Ole miss is half of our top50 wins right now.

While things like top 50 wins are "neat" to look at I seriously dont think we are really trying to keep a 45 RPI team from moving to 51... More important will be getting to the semi finals or finals of the SEC Tournament.

I want to finish above Ole Miss. We are battling all other "bubble teams" for spots and Ole Miss is one of them.
