His "goodbye"

the end of the road for Dre in Houston. I'm a Saints fan first and foremost, but growing up in Houston, they've become a second favorite team due to the hometown effect, and Dre was always a favorite. This sucks, but it's something that must be done for both sides.

Well, that's lame (and a bit indecipherable).

As my love for the NFL has faded, so has my love for the Texans. But I love Andre to death. I would love to see him with the Pats. He could kill it there, and they could get him a ring.

Pats gotta worry about Revis/McCourty first before they start thinking about Andre

How is that lame. Given the timing of my upbringing there were not Oilers or Texans in Houston, and all my family is from Louisiana and are Saints fans so that was that. Hence the still fandom to the Astros and Rockets (no such thing as NO Pelicans growing up).

As for the indecipherable part, I tried to make a play-on with "home away from home" with "team away from team" but guess it didn't go over well.

There were no Oilers or Texans when I became a serious sports fan, but I was more than willing to become a Texans fan when my hometown finally got a team. It was easy because they represent my hometown.

Well good on you then. I had already developed an allegiance to the Saints, sooo I don't really know what to tell you.

I'm the same way. I'm from New Orleans and grew up with the Saints so they are my team, but after living in Houston for years I also want the Texans to do well.

I moved to Houston when Houston had no NFL team, and I lived in New Orleans when they had no basketball team.

Andre's a boss.

Really wish Andre and Fitz could have ended up on teams with good QBs for the majority of their careers. Who knows what numbers they would have put up

We have the exact same fandom for the exact same reasons with the same timing.

Yeah, the only shitty part is having to explain this everytime this gets brought up, like now.

I think he's one of the most underrated WR of all time. I would argue that he's pushing top ten, if not there, for me.

Texans ownership and front office is the fricking worst.

I said last year at this time the Texans should trade andre with the pats for Mallet. Mallet would have had a full preseason and could have started from day 1, for better or worse the Texans would have known what they had as a QB.

Now we lose andre, doubt we get much since team know he'll be a FA and we don't know what we have at QB

Fine by me as long as you're not the kind of douche bashing the Texans while cheering for the Rockets and Astros. And as a Houstonian on top of it. That doesn't make sense to me.

I don't bash the Texans I probably follow that team more than any other not named the Saints.

Although I am a little indifferent. I'll root for them, if they win great, if they lose I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

I wonder if Gary Kubiak would attempt to get him in some way.

to me, Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell in Jacksonville were what you would call underrated.

I guess playing in a smaller market will do that.

Andre Johnson was always a beast and put up nice numbers in yardage. I thought he was a Top 5 WR in the league for years.

i never viewed him as underrated.

but I know what you mean. If that makes any sense.

It's crazy to try to imagine Andre Johnson's numbers had he played with a quality quarterback his entire career.

13,600 yards in 13 seasons while playing with quarterbacks such as David Carr, Tony Banks, Sage Rosenfels, Matt Shaub, Rex Grossman, TJ Yates, Jake Delhomme, Matt Leinart, Case Keenum, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mallett and Tom Savage.
