I'd be for it. He had a fumbling problem, but seemed to get that under control.

He didn't have 1 fumble this year before his injury

It had been a problem in the past. 9 fumbles in his 1st 3 years

I'm OK with that as long as some other team is paying his salary.

He's not worth that, this is a deep draft for RBs

Loomis would be out of his cotton picking mind to do a deal like that for Ingram. The guy has never played an entire season. He's not a good pass threat. DUMP HIM.

It wouldn't surprise me. There are a lot of FA running backs, but Ingram and Murray are probably the best available based on recent production, skill set, age and health.

I say sign J. Rodgers or Bobby Rainey and draft another running back.

What's Rashad Jennings up to these days?

Let him go. He's injury prone and OKAY at times. He's inconsistent. Definitely not worth that price tag when they're a dime a dozen in the draft and can easily find production in a late pick.

I was laughing hard when I saw him make the Pro Bowl. Not so much because I didn't think he deserved it but more that nobody did better than him in the NFC? He didn't even rush for 1k yards on the season. I wonder how much the silly Pro Bowl inflated his value.

Dallas should sign him. He'd rush for 1800 yards behind that offensive line. Any RB would do good behind them.

I'm happy to hear news of such an inflated salary estimate. Hopefully this means he'll be gone soon.

The draft is deep...rookie salaries are cheap...there's a short shelf life for RBs...Ingram sucks in the passing game...you don't overpay for RBs in this era of professional football...etc..............

Time to move on. Bye bye.

i love everyone knocking on Ingram. who exactly tore it up for us in the straight running game? who could come in and run behind this offensive line?

did anyone pay attention to the cowboys from last vs this year? murray had an amazing season because they fixed their offensive line. ingram has talent, theres just nowhere for him to go. Look at all the bashing Brees got this season. yet most on here point to one player instead of the unit thats taking a dump on these players.

He is ranked as the #24 over all free agent and the 2nd RB behind Murray.

24. Mark Ingram, RB, New Orleans Saints: Still just 25 years old with little tread on his tires, Ingram should attract plenty of interest on the heels of a breakout 2014 season. The cap-strapped Saints can't afford a back of his caliber

Okay...let's say the Saints are somehow able to find the cash to bring in a quality O-line.

Then what? Does that solve Ingram's inability to get off the line?...to block?...to get open?...to catch a pass?

What did you see in him that suggests he's better than anyone else we have on the roster? Look at his best games and you'll often find the other backs still had a higher YPC average. Last year wasn't a breakout season...it was a contract year.

He's not horrible but he's also nothing special. If he wasn't a free agent, you could keep him but to increase his salary based on what we've seen for the past four years is just stupid.

Why is it so difficult to comprehend that RBs aren't valued like they were in the past? If you overpay at the position, you will suffer elsewhere. Spend the money on the O-line upgrades and address the RB position in the draft. Ingram doesn't deserve and isn't worth a salary increase.

That's NOT personal...it's sensible.

What? He was able to get off the line the last 1.5 seasons behind an average at best oline

What does that even mean?

The Saints shouldn't pay him, but he's a good running back

Good...okay, I'll buy that.

Great...not even close.

Worth a new increased contract...ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Rushing:
Thomas (4.9 YPC)
Robinson (4.8 YPC)
Ingram (4.3 YPC)

Receiving:
Ingram - averages less than two per game for an average of five yards per catch.

You make the call.
