Not a theory.
Uncommitted players are better for businesses

Does anyone really put any legitimacy on the star ratings or these services's rankings? Really?

Yes because people actually take time to evaluate the recruits.

Some can never make the transition to college ball...

Yes, its been proven time and again that 5* players have by far a higher success rate at the next level than 4* who in turn have a higher success rate than 3*. Also look at the team rankings from the last 3-4 years and you will find Bama, Ohio State and FSU ranked pretty high. If you are expecting the rankings to be 100 or 99% accurate even, that's on you, but a higher percentage of 5* players will do well in college and make the pros.

What are you laughing at ?
You pass by a mirror?

That was just your opinion, an uncommitted recruit garners attention from every fan base that thinks they have a chance for him, whereas a committed recruit doesn't..
So keep laughing because you think you know everything, genius.

Stephen Sullivan seems to get lost in these conversations. Is there still talk of switching him to defense or is he a WR all the way?

I actually have the top 5 the exact same. Next 5 only a slight change with Leflore out, Campbell down one spot and Taylor at #9. Taylor could be top 5 at the end. Kids a stud.

1 Lawrence-better size and athletic ability than Alexander

2 Alexander-monster in his own right. Just like Lawrence slightly more right now

3 Allen-all about upside and position. I don't think he's top 5 as a current prospect but the upside could push him to 1 if he advances this year

4 Fulton-little skinny but he's top notch as a cover guy. Length

5 Carter-as a S for sure. Think he's a good corner prospect but his athleticism at S is why I have him this high

6 Patterson-not gonna discount him just because he's not a tiger. Kid can play and deserves to be ranked properly

7 Sullivan-only thing that scares me is that he's becoming a tweener in the Seals-Jones way. Maybe DE is his spot. If so then this ranking sticks. As a tweener WR/TE I'm not sure he can stay this high. Stud talent

8 Divinity-best LB the state has produced in a while on potential. Kid flourishes in 7 on 7 and that's great for LBs.

9 Taylor-kid is uniquely special. His size/athleticism combo lends him the ability to be a stud on both lines and that versatility gives him a bump IMO. This isn't a case where he's substantially better on one side than the other. He can be a stud DT or OT

10 Campbell-this is Josh Boutte all over again. Kid that comes from nowhere and starts that gradual rise. The big camps will be his showcase like with Boutte. Some OGs are just a special kind of nasty and he is

Kinda off subject.. but....
Since 2014.. Louisiana has produced 12 5 star recruits.
California has only produced 8?!?! in the same time frame..
This was using 247.. I must have missed something.

Not entirely sure but overall I would say LSU is in a good position with most of the guys they want. I believe Sullivan and Lawrence will be on campus for the weekend(beginning of spring ball) and are meeting with the coaches. I think a while back some poster said to watch out for Cameron Lewis too around that date.

I honestly don't expect it to be quiet this spring even with the "sanctions".

Don't know for sure of course but from reading tealeaves and all the info possible

Lawrence-we are in great shape and this weekend will only strengthen that. He's Orgerons first real sighted target. Bama doesn't worry me with him as much as the northwest schools(Oregon/Washington). Even those could just be talk but we jump on family ties to LA so no reason to discount them when they are the other way

Alexander- matter of time

Allen-gonna be a long, tough battle. Think we are fighting from behind and likely always will be

Fulton-great shape. Matter if time IMO

Carter-making progress. The S pitch is what will keep us fighting. If he were pure CB I don't think we would stick to pursuing him. Think he sticks with Bama

Patterson-we all know

Sullivan-hes going nowhere

Divinity-i hear a lot if OOS talk but I'm not buying it yet. Think our depth chart is very appealing and I think he just wants to be at LSU. We shall see

Taylor-seems like a matter of time but he's getting lots of attention now. FSU just offered and many more will. Think we are in great shape but if he isn't open to OL then we could be in trouble unless O really wants him at DT. I take him anywhere he wants

Campbell- I worry about the Bama confidence. Everyone says he's solid so I'm going with that. If the Bama confidence keeps up then my worry will grow. Can't lose him. At his particular position, he might be the most dominant player in the state
