I know it's spring training and I know you could call them the "phillies" but still pretty embarrassing that your prospects could be this bad

Is the university of Tampa like the university of Phoenix?

They are going to be fricking terrible this year

Happened a couple years ago with a different MLB team, but I can't remember which one. It's baseball, any team can win on a given day if a pitcher gets hot.
Eta: a community college team beat the Pirates and the Os in the span of 3 years.

Tampa usually wins or competes for a D2 CWS bid yearly. They also have been playing games for two weeks.
This is a non story.

It happens every year
Couple years ago the Orioles lost to a community college
It's not a big deal

I think FIU beat the Marlins maybe. I know my buddies little brother struck out Stanton in that game.
Either way, it's a cool deal for the college kids and doesn't mean shite for the pros.
Tampa usually has a pretty solid program though. They used to get transfers from LSU regularly.

So players like Pinella and Tino Martinez, who played at Tampa aren't any good?

Do college teams get to use aluminum bats in these exhibition games?

They are going to have to tear it completely down and build it back up ala the Astros. Only solution for the situation Amaro has put them in.
And that opinion has zero to do with this game, it's just what I've felt for the last couple years as they continued to grasp at one more run with a washed up roster
