What place has your favorite burger in town? What sets it apart from other burgers and what is the approx price? Any unusual toppings or additions to a burger that you like or hate?
Thanks for your opinions.

A burger is a burger man, no such thing as the "best burger in town"

When did you land a job with 225 Magazine brah?
Posted on 3/2/15 at 10:26 am to TigerWise
im curious to see what 225 lists?
I don't really believe 225 since I think it just reps the places that pay the most

This would have helped in the OP to get this thread on the right path. Brah.

Visit each burger place you deem relevant, take notes of your experiences and grab a menu.
Apparently, I'm not supposed to offer any real help in this forum, so I'll stop here.
But I will say, know your market. If you know your market, the menu will write itself along with the prices. Basically, know the people you will be serving and know their options (your competitors).

You get what you pay for.
Or you don't.
everyone has a different opinion of what they like and few are the peacemakers who agree.
If you can find them, they will be call "the children of God" (Matthew 5:9)
OK - after reading rest of posts, I'll repeat and add.
Know your customer base and design a burger to fit them. What you serve will vary depending on what customers you want to pull into your burger joint.
Everyone wants something extra for their money. identify an extra and give it to them, even if you must charge more for it.
Find the best possible patty and bun.
Remember "Quick, Hot, Pleasing to the eye and palate."
If you build close to another burger joint, you better be special.
Good luck with your new burger joint.
Or you don't.

I wish it were that easy, the place is not an easy one to ID a target market. It appeals to lots of demographics. Casual and relaxed during the day, fine dining at night. I feel the burger should be kept simple and good, chefs have lots of ideas to make it tasty, but expensive. I just posted it here to feel out the renowned F&DB posters. Always some good info here somewhere between the flamers and trolls.

Sorry if I gave the wrong impression, this is not for a new burger joint. It's for a new menu at an existing restaurant.

Agreed, I think and egg is a great addition and at very little cost.

Bun is solid, how do you feel about grassfed Louisiana beef? I think it's very expensive and not any better tasting than most beef.
