Is there a chance TQ declares for the draft?

He has to develope a legit post game and be a knockdown mid range shooter to have any pro potential. Travels way to much when he's in the post right now

Yeah, if I had to call it right now, Martin goes Mickey stays. I could live with that.

I think that's the most likely at this point. If you asked me before the year, I would say they both stay, but Martin has been playing out of his mind these past weeks

I'd agree it would be a miracle for Martin to stay, but Mickey is playing his worst basketball at the most crucial part of the year

If Mickey leaves he won't get drafted at all. He's been playing like arse these last couple games. He isn't finishing at the rim, he isn't defending around the rim, and he's getting destroyed on the boards. If Jarell wasn't beasting right now we'd be out of the tournament.

Do you really think that Mickey's draft evaluation will rest solely on four games? What about the 20+ prior to where he was clearly LSU's most consistent and probably best all around player? These four games are simply a slump that won't affect his draft evaluation one way or the other. By your logic, Martin shouldn't be considered viable draft prospect either due to the fact that UNTIL these last 4-5 games he had a propensity to completely disappear in big moments late in games. Also, except for the occasional charge, he still plays very lazy defense.

For the first time in his LSU career we're starting to see Martin play up to the potential that everyone thought he had coming in to LSU. He very well may be playing himself into a first round draft pick and I for one hope that play continues. But to think that Mickey has no chance of getting drafted simply because his is struggling right now is ridiculous.

Martin's stock has never been higher....he's almost assuredly gone.

Mickey hopefully comes back

TQ is playing point guard, Newman and Blakeney are purely scoring guards.

TQ doesn't play point more often than 2/3 on this team and Newman is being groomed to be a PG, not a SG. Blakeney is a pure SG though.

When TQ and Patterson are on the floor, he is point guard. He's only not point guard when Gray plays. It's not that hard to understand and I don't understand why people say TQ isn't s PG. Yes, he is

I know this is hypothetical but....

If Newman commits and M&M stay, LSU could have 7 players drafted in the '16 draft.

Still think it's a longshot and that people are being way too optimistic with very little to go on. At least people had reason to do this with Jaquan Lyle.

Yep...But he would probably gladly come off the bench if it meant a Final Four berth....

I don't believe so this year. Next year could be a different story, but he still needs some improvement on his jump shot and could use a little more muscle to help him play the long NBA season.

Jones uses all his guards similarly. It's why he recruits combo guards. There's a lot of movement on the perimeter and the hot hand has the ball the most. Some games it's Patterson, some it's Quarterman, some it's Gray... Don't know why we have to put all these labels on it.

I am personal friends with some reporters that interview him regularly. After an interview there was a discussion, off the record, about schools he was considering. He mentioned LSU was getting a strong look and mentioned our recruiting this year. This was before LSU was talked about at all as a player for Newman. I took heavy incoming fire from a few recruitniks who thought i was pulling their chain. I'm not going to post bullshite.

You guys dont think AB is being recruited as a starter. I am sure he has a great attitude but he is one and done. He is looking for minutes and points.

I think realistically. TQ comes off bench and sparks us like he does this season. Hot hand plays down stretch.

No one is mentioning Victor as a possible starter @ PF or C. Why not????

Just a thought. Seems like everyone is forgetting about Elbert Robinson to play down low. This year was essentially a transition year from high school to college for him. He was bigger then everyone and didnt have to refine his game or his athleticism to dominate in high school. Next year he will be able to contribute even if it is minutes off the bench it will definitely help our presence down low. A year and a half of college coaching and training will make him into a contributer.
