Why does LSU play Arkansas once but play teams from the East like Florida and Tennessee twice?

The divisions don't exist in basketball anymore.

Why do LSU play Arkansas?

I would say this was a mistake but you use "do" here twice. It's actually a smooth way of saying it. Not grammatically correct but I like it. Where are you from?

The new basketball alignment started last year or maybe the year before, I can't recall...has no East or West.

Texas A$M if I'm not mistaken is our only permanent opponent we play twice a year every year.

After that we rotate 4 other teams that we play twice.

Seems like it could be considering correct considering he is talking about a basketball team (i.e. plural, more than one person). Some people use plural verbs for collective nouns (mainly British people, so it may not be intentional in the OP's case). It just sounds awkward.

Kinda like the World Cup announcers always saying Germany are going to win this game, or Brazil are getting ready to play. They are referring to the team, not a singular entity.

because usually FLORIDA is terrific and the bama scheduler's idea is to give LSU the hardest schedule in football and basketball.
