You do realize there are a lot of fans and potential fans who happen to be of Latin American heritage living in Houston, Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Phoenix, L.A., Denver, OKC and, hell, even N.O., right? In fact, there are plenty of those folks all over the continental U.S. Why the frick does this bother you?

One could easily misinterpret this as racist.
You know, in a take-our-country-back kind of way.

I'm aware of that. My point was what does language have to do with it.

Money is made through merchandise and tv, not putting butts in the seats.
You're not going to see kids in Mexico and Cuba and Panama wearing NBA jerseys, or watching an NBA game.
You can find Man United, Barca, Real Madrid gear here in the states, and those kinds of teams have been playing more and more preseason games here to promote them.
There's a reason the 3 teams i mentioned are the 3 largest revenue collectors in the world when it comes to sports franchises. Hell look at Man U this year with their main sponsership as Chevy. They aren't dumb and know they can make a lot more money the more they tap into the U.S. fanbase. Tapping into a poor fanbase like latin america for the NBA just seems like a waste of money.

Spain is a soccer first country, but they like their basketball, and they probably have the best domestic league in the world after the NBA. They are proud of their ALLSTARS that play here. We saw how much they loved us 23 years ago in Barcelona. WHy we haven't played a game there, at least a preseason game, is beyond me. We've played games in Mexico for some stupid reason.

On top of the fact that there are 3 latin american players playing in the nba, the tiny fanbase of those 3 players are some of the poorest in the world.
I understand marketing the hispanics that live in this country, but even that seems like a waste. You're not going to win over the hispanics that aren't watching now by doing this. NBA games have got to be the most expensive games to go to out of any sport.

Exposing yourself more to European countries like Spain, France, Greece, Turkey and the smaller eastern european countries is where they should be focusing their efforts. No problem with Brazil and Argentina either. There's a lot more money that can be made by going to those markets than the small poor market of hispanics in or near to this country.

It's not the hispanics i don't like, and yeah it's an over exaggeration of hatred i'm portraying here.
I just wish the NBA did more marketing to the European market, just like the BPL and the Barca's, Real Madrids, Bayern Munichs are doing with the US market.

I will say that I hate the country of Mexico and their fans. I'm a soccer fan, and have watched many of US/Mexico matches. I hate Mexico. Maybe that's were this is stemming from.

The more I think about, the more I see my hatred of the Mexican national soccer team influencing my views on this.

Inclusive? Aren't we a melting pot? Why do we constantly have to appease everyone yet the second we mention assimilation we're called racist, sexist, homophobic, biased, etc.?

What's next?...gay night?...Asian night?...Muslim night?...abused as a child night?...vertically-challenged people night?...bisexual night?...etc..........

The more people talk about inclusion...the more they're interested in representing their "own" specific group. Knock it off!!!

Why can't you just be an American? Why can't you just be a Pelicans' fan? Adding terms is divisive so anyone who supports it should consider looking in a mirror before calling other racist, sexist, etc.

Okay...I'm off my soapbox.
