I know nothing about the cowboys or their cap situation. I just thought it was funny that literally nobody agrees with your post

that's hard to do
congrats!

Haha, Demarco had way too many caries last season. Letting him walk is completely the right move

agree. the Cowboys knew what they were doing. Now is the perfect time to ship Demarco

Gurley or Gordon

One is injury prone and the other might be a product of the system like many before him.

I'd wait to take either...

Gordon will be a really good back, but there's some really good depth at that position, so it's not like a 1st rounder at that position is necessary.

Both will be studs like Hill

Thing is RBs are a dime a dozen

Gurley is not a fragile back for anyone that paid attention to his college career and couple minor injuries. there's a reason he's still projecting 1st round

That said im pretty universally opposed to spending 1st round picks on RBs. theres just so much value with them later in the draft

If Gurley is there at 27 you definitely take him. Upgrade over murray.

You are an idiot if you think tagging Murray is the right move. Guy has only had one healthy season in the last 3 years and much like the Cowboys of the 90's any decent back could get 1200 to 1500 yards behind that line.

Save money on a RB and just draft someone in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Dallas should be RB proof at this point. They need to pay for a d line. Garrett and stevie know this.

Typical reactionary rant. They're both the right moves, and I'm not even a Cowboys fan.

Good move, considering his current (alleged) situation.

and going to let DeMarco walk

Good move, considering how good the Cowboys' O-line is and how risky it is to lock up a tailback to a big deal (see Mojo, Arian Foster, Chris Johnson, Jonathan Stewart, Ray Rice, etc).

isn't Dez facing legal/NFL issues or was all that about the video false?

dunno how much they were just bullshitting around or had legit info but I think it was Friday that guys on The Fan were speculating that the entire video thing was a rumor floated by Dez's ex agent out of retaliation for being fired recently.

I wanted them to sign Dez (and they still can), but no way you tag Murray, imo... Hell, if Randle will stop shoplifting cologne and undergarments, I'd be fine with him and getting some pass rushers...

They are playing the Bryant situation perfectly imo. Tag him and see what happens with this rumored video thing. If nothing comes of it, lock him up long term.

Signing Murray to a long term deal is completely asinine especially with the best OL in football. He's been injury prone every year except for last plus he's coming off of a 400 carry season. Stats will show you that there's always a massive drop the following year when a RB has that kind of usage.

If Minnesota cuts Peterson, I would go all out for him IF he's willing to sign a short term deal (I think he would be cheaper than Murray for Dallas anyways).

If that doesn't pan out, then you grab a back in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft.

Save the big money outside of Dez for the defensive line.
