Lunardi has LSU as a 10th seed right now, which should improve after beating Ole Miss...

Looking at the teams in the East, in a perfect world, I feel I would favor LSU over any other team, sans Virginia, but I would love our chances to beat them as a #1 seed over say Kentucky, Arizona or Duke...

We may soon be seeing a similar year to 2006 in about three weeks if Johnny can show more growth as a situational coach, call time outs in a more timely fashion, the key players stay out of early foul trouble, rebound on the defensive end and be able to somehow overcome late game fatigue, due to a lack of frontcourt depth, which undoubtedly will rear it's head especially in the 2nd game of a tournament weekend.

We should of beat Kentucky and should of done so convincingly because we were the better team that night, but for offensive rebounding, fatigue and Johnny still learning how to coach competently in certain situations....

We're thin especially in the front court, which is non-existent after Martin and Mickey, but that may be the only factor from keeping us being a Top 10 team and considered as a true Final Four contender this year. I shutter to think if we could of snagged Rico Gathers, where this team would be right now along with keeping Hickey. I digress....

However, other than the above-mentioned teams, we can play and almost expect to beat anybody else out there, if those previously mentioned drawbacks are minimized significantly....

I like our chances to move on if we get in... And I feel beating Tennessee makes us locks regardless of whatever happens at that point...

Depending on the 1 seed and certain matchups, in the region we end up in, I could see me entering a bracket for money with LSU in the final four and not feel like I'm a homer...

Nasayers can ridicule and scoff at the notion all they want, and we are an inconsistent team, especially against perceived lesser teams, but we good when we good and can beat anyone, believe that!!!

Man bear Tiger please be the first poster to eat a healthy plate of crow if it happens.... Not saying it will.... So I'm not playing the what will I do if they dont make it to the Final Four game, but I'm not ruling out and dismissing the possibility as comical and far-fetched, by no means... We have 3 NBA caliber players on this team and that's more than most... I don't know why it's so far-fetched to think this team can't do what the 09 team did.... Martin, Mickey, TQ, Hornsby, and an ever-improving Patterson (don't sleep) is not that far behind a Mitchell, Big Baby, Temple, Thomas and the tournament higher seeds and regional talent depth this year will not be that of 2009.

All we need is the right match ups with the supposed hardest teams to avoid as a #1 seeds, Duke or Kentucky, and avoiding possible #2 seeds like Arizona or Wisconsin.

Like I said, Anybody else and I say we have a great chance to beat them if we play a solid game and minimize our customary deficiencies (defensive rebounding, turnovers, settling for 3 point shots when they not falling, Johnny's coaching at times)....

If we had one more legitimate player on this team, preferably at the small forward spot or backup big, we would be a Top 10 team with maybe only 3-5 losses right now... U trippin but you may be pleasantly suprise and glad that you were wrong in a few weeks....

Rico Gathers has some good numbers, but I think Damian Jones would be a better complement to this team if they could have kept him home.

I am not sure Hickey would have adapted to a lesser role with the emergence of Quarterman. Patterson seems to be a better shooter than Hickey .

The one thing we have going for us, is that with the exception of two of the losses, we have been in the game in the final minute, and in fact with the ball and a chance to tie or take the league within that final minute.

The negative is that in about half of those losses, we didn't even get a shot off in that pivotal possession.

LSU will have a chance.

I love your optimism. I doubt it happens, but if this team continues to peak, I don't think a Final Four is out of the realm of possibility. Much less talented teams have made tournament runs! Why not us? With that said, let's focus on making the tournament first. If we beat both Tennessee and Arkansas, then I'll start getting pretty excited.

This team has been in the game at the end against every opponent this season (unfortunately that also includes some weak teams that LSU should have been better than). Final Four is a BIT audacious, but I think LSU can be a very tough out. Though it doesn't look like it a times, this is a very good defensive team. They give up more points than most because they play much faster than most. Nonetheless, the defensive efficiency numbers don't lie. Musselman deserves a ton of credit for the improvement as he is LSU's "DC" so to speak.

Good defense travels. No reason to think LSU wouldn't contiunue to do so as the season goes on. The biggest concern is, and always has been, this teams situational awareness and decision making. In tight games against great teams you can't let possessions slip away with dumb decisions. Yesterday was a perfect example. LSU had a 10 point lead late with the opportunity to run clock. Instead the jacked up 3 three pointers in a row after only taking around 10 seconds off the shot clock each. The one bright spot was that Jones called a TO to put a stop to it

I can agree with this. We haven't lost a single game by more than 10 points and could have won nearly all the ones we lost

The 09 team lost in the 2nd round. You're thinking about the 06 team.

Well at first reading this, I was like....stay off drugs. Then, I saw our resident bitch was shaking her head against you down below....and suddenly, given her disagreement with you....I actually will give you a small chance to be right....based solely on the dumb bitch below disagreeing with you. lol

lmao...I always love these type of quotes. Yep, if we had scored more points than the other team, we most certainly could have won all our games. If we had better coaching....if we had better guard play at time...if we shot free throws better at times...if, if, if.....lol

since you are siting the 09 team, I'm assuming you are about 18 years old or so....and really don't remember much about it.....we had a good team that year yes....we got a terrible draw having to play the future NC in the second round.....although we led most of that game. The NCAA put a screwing to LSU that year.

It's a matter of focus and motivation Alt. CJJ mentioned the first Auburn game where they kids just did not follow the scouting report and what they practiced as the reason an Auburn team that had largely struggled this year, scoring 81 on us.

When this team is focused, they are formidable. The struggles and inconsistency this year are directly attributable to lack of accountability.

At times throughout the season when it looks like we've gotten over the hump in that regard, we inevitably seem to relapse...your point on the inexplicable 3's we started jacking late yesterday another example.

CJJ did take a good timeout as you mentioned. No reason not to be motivated and focused now with what is at stake. No better time than now to play our best ball.

Geaux Tigers!!

They wont match is up with UK first off. We could tho have a chance to play gonzaga. Remember they were a one seed a couple years ago and the committee likes these good mid major teams that only lose one or two games as one seeds. I like our chances against gonzaga but anyone else, not so much.

Zags lost at home last night. No. 1 seed may be in flux for them now.

We turn the ball over constantly and give up second chance shots on the defensive boards constantly.

I don't know what makes anyone think we make it out of round 2 at best.

I'd be happy with that in the SEC Tournament.
