Nexus 6 keeps getting pushed back. now looking at 3/12, but I would that and a droid turbo over a G3 IMO

I switch phones at least every six months. I've had the G3 Since release, July 17th, and I have zero reason to think about changing. I still love it.

Got the Droid Turbo last weekend and I have zero complaints. Switched from my first and only iPhone and I'll never go back.
On that note, the pain in the arse Apple gives you when you leave is outrageous. It's nearly impossible to receive texts from iPhone users despite all of these hoops I've jumped through.

Wait until mobile world congress and see what new phones are coming out.

I left Apple and their gilded ecosystem before all those problems. And iPhone was my first smartphone - but I'm Google/Microsoft everywhere else. iTunes is a dealbreaker, but their other proprietary crap is bad as well. I had no complaints about the hardware, but I'm on my second Android phone in 4 years - I don't even consider Apple an option - I'd go windows phone, first.

If I had to get a phone today, I would get the Droid Turbo. My wife has the G3, and I haven't heard any complaints from her. Like someone else mentioned, if you're not in a hurry, wait to see what gets announced this week. I think the next batch of phones will be a pretty big upgrade, both hardware and software.
For most high end phones you can hope to get 2 major software updates. The G3 launched with K, should be getting the L update, and could be a 50/50 chance of getting the M update. If you wait for a phone that launches with L, you will get the M update, then 50/50 to get the N update.

I had the Droid Turbo for less than a month before the update. I think it will be one of those rare phones that get 3 - and, I think that "major" updates in the future will get more incremental - the feeling out process for iOS and Android OS are done and they're just refining that. Interesting to see how Microsoft adjusts their normal model of OS upgrades as they push to get more share of this market.
I think making Windows 8 as a mobile platform first kind of hurt them, but the Surface Pro looks like a legit contending "wedge" product to get them mobile product share.
But, for my money, between my Droid phones and Mrs. Midnight's Nexus tablet - Android is still tops with me.

Buying the turbo, thanks for the recommendations. I'm hoping since Motorola is a Google company they will end up with updates continuously

Google sold Motorola to Lenovo. If Lenovo allows Motorola to keep the customization to a minimum, then it will allow them to release updates faster than the rest.

This is true. I must say that both Verizon and Motorola have resisted weighing this thing down. I'm only about a month in and I've only disabled 2 pre-installed apps, with maybe 4 or 5 more on the horizon - considering I disabled well over a dozen on the old phone, that's progress.
And I already have a OS update.

Yeah after I posted that, and right after I had signed the papers I read about Google selling it. I strongly doubt Google let Lenovo have Motorola without some kind of a simplicity agreement. Motorola is the new nexus company after all.
P.S: this phone is amazing, the closest thing I have ever had to stock android on a Verizon phone, so awesome

I read on a review that you can setup wireless charging on the Turbo, how exactly does this work? (since I have never done wireless charging before, I am in the dark on this one)

You need a wireless charging pad. Search Amazon for Qi Wireless Charging. They range in price from under $10 to probably $100. The one that Verizon sells is pretty expensive.

Surely you mean the best Android phone on Verizon? You can't say best phone on a network and not include the iPhone 6 in the discussion....if you are being objective, that is.

It's funny you would say this, at the end it was actually the iPhone 6 vs. the turbo. At the end of the day being tied to iTunes, no wireless charging, better pebble support, Chromecast support, battery life, screen resolution, camera, and a few other things made the turbo head and shoulders ahead of the iPhone for this purchase.
ETA: I have owned the original iPhone, iPhone 4s, iPad 2, and currently have an iPad Air. So I'm very objective
