Just wanted to give a quick recommendation (powerline adaptor)

So if you're not aware, a powerline adaptor is a device that uses your existing electrical wiring to transmit/amplify your internet data throughout your house. This is for people who may live in an older house/building that is not wired and rigged with ethernet ports (like mine). Basically, you plug one of these into the wall and connect it to your router, then you connect another one anywhere else in your house that you want and you can then connect that one to a new router to setup a new network, or you can just plug a computer or whatever device directly to the adaptor. There are several more expensive models out there but I found this one on amazon for $30 and it has worked incredibly. Just wanted to share because I couldn't believe this actually worked and in case anyone may be interested

What kind of speed drop offs do you get with those?

pretty much none in my experience. I just did a speed test on my laptop which is connected by wifi to the router that's connected to the adaptor and I'm getting 12 mb download which is the maximum that I'm supposed to get with my plan. Also my ping is 40ms so no dropoff there either. I have an ethernet cable running from the new router to my PS4 and I can play any game online with no problems

Just a disclaimer for anyone considering these: Your results will vary depending on the age and length of the wiring in your house and whether the 120v lines on the outlets you use are part of the same phase.

Yes I've only seen them work poorly. I've replaced those setups multiple times by running ethernet into the attic and installing outdoor unifis in the attic space.
