Current thought is that this is mis-translated news. Only one site has run this quote. no one else is really touching it.

But Phantasy Star Online 2 is excellent. :-(

Also Stout, this isn't completely true. Sega laid off a bunch of people and announced they were going to focus on mobile games. Much as said in articles back in January -> LINK

They also said it won't affect the operations of their non-in house studios like Creative Assembly (Total War) and Atlus (Persona).

Came in here to post this.

The days of PSO on the DC/GC were amazing. It was a simpler age but very little beat those days rolling with friends online looking for red drops.

If the IP is in good hands I'll be happy. Old SE could make something of it.

No, that's Atlus, Sega now owns Atlus, but that's it.

Atlus will continue making games.

The SEGA first party titles for consoles will stop.
