This little Louisiana bypass is great if you really can't stand New Orleans, or you're in a hurry for Texas.

I've driven back and forth to Dallas at least 50 times and that's the ONLY stretch of highway I've never gotten a ticket on.
knock on wood

Whenever I've got a road trip and no timeline - I usually pull it up to see what's along the way.

If you want a guaranteed ticket, come to Ohio. I have to assume it's the worst state Highway patrol - wise.

I've driven all over Pennsylvania and Ohio - they've got nothing on WVa and Maryland turnpike cops.
Maryland state troopers can kiss my arse.

"Whichever way you travel it," Larry McMurtry writes in Roads, I-20 "leads to nowhere interesting."
Sorry Dallas and Atlanta.

Virginia has more State Troopers than they do citizens.
Everyone in Virginia has their own personal State Trooper and they had 8 left over.

Always interested in this drive, for some reason, except for the stretch between Toledo and Dayton. It's very pretty going through KY an TN.

4) I-24 ("The Legend")
Route: 316 miles, Pulley's Mill, Illinois to Chattanooga, Tennessee
Traffic Rating: 2.54
If you need a challenge, I-24's "Monteagle Mountain," a 6 percent grade in Tennessee, is considered the most treacherous stretch on the interstates. Jerry Reed, underrated star of Smokey and the Bandit, wrote a song for it ("The Legend"). Johnny Cash also sang of it too: "your life is in your hands when you start down that long steep grade."
I don't know how many of y'all have drove this stretch, but it'll make that arse pucker. Beautiful though
